Default Need advice on recent purchase

So I was looking through eBay and found an older style of a brand of handbag I am currently in to. The bag was listed with a BIN. I did BIN and paid immediately with Paypal. I still have that I won the item in my account and have a paypal receipt so I know it went through. About 10 minutes after I bought the item, the seller listed the exact same bag (exact same pics) and increased the BIN by $50. I seriously doubt this person has 2 of this bag (states it is from her personal collection) and used the exact same description and pics.

What should or can I do? I contacted the seller and asked them why it was relisted with a price increase since I won and already paid for it. I asked if they had 2 of the item for sale.

I don't know if I should wait patiently for them to respond or already point out this relisting to eBay or contact Paypal!

I am afraid someone will bid on the item that I already bought and then what???

Any advice would be appreciated! Oh and the seller had 100% feedback but only about 30 transaction since membership in 2003.

TIA!

Hmm.. that is really odd. Don't worry just yet. A lot of sellers put "from my own collection" when its not. Would it make a huge difference if it wasnt? If it is a lie then so be it on the seller that they have to resort to that kind of thing to sell an item.

Wait for the seller to contact you, dont worry im sure they will eventually! If time is getting on and it is a few days past when you expect to receive it then email them again and then continue to a paypal claim.

Stay clam and it will work out :) x

ITA.

Definitely wait and see what their response is.

Most of the time, I have noticed that a lot of frequent sellers use the same pics for their items. Especially if they have several of the same item "in stock." However, it is a bit unusual to have the same handbag, so you just never know.

Just be patient and wait to see what they say.

I am hoping they didn't try to get a higher bid out of it. Cheesy!

I am firmly against stock photos, but I think what you are saying is that she used the same photos that she had taken of the bag you bought. Is that correct? I still don't like it. I want to see photos of the actual item I am buying. Surely the serial number pics are different?

I could be a replica and she has several of the same bags, or she could have went to Marshalls or TJ Maxx and got a couple of the same bags.

Just out of curiosity, what is the brand of this bag?

Thanks everyone for your calming advice. I won't panic just yet. The strange thing is it was personal photos of the bag and it showed wear marks and those were pointed out. So I seriously doubt the person has 2 of this bag with the same wear, etc. The bag is purple too so the color is not one that many people own multiple of.

I used Live Help on eBay and the guy said "Hmmmm it does appear to be the exact same item listed twice with a price hike the 2nd time." He said Ebay would contact the seller as well just to inquire not to accuse.

I have yet to hear back from the seller but now have her phone number and left a message. I have never called anyone on eBay before but the live help guy sent me her number and said he sent her mine.

ETA: Just got an email from the seller while typing this and she said she somehow relisted the item by accident after I bid and won the 1st auction. Not sure why it is at a higher price the 2nd time though. I have never sold on eBay so I don't know how likely this could happen. Oh and someone did BIN and bought the bag on round 2 for the higher price. The right thing would be send it to me but I'm not sure what she will do. She told me she is so confused and can't see either listing in her records on her end so she is waiting for a response from Ebay to know how to proceed which she said can take 48 hours.

I might just be out the bag but get my $ back if she does not do the honest thing and goes with the 2nd auction for a higher price. So if she sends the bag to the 2nd buyer even though my payment went through, I should be able to get my money back through Paypal right?? Sorry if this is a newbie question. I have bought lots on eBay and been fortunate enough to not have any issues.

Thanks for letting me vent ladies and offering advice. I will update you all on her decision if you guys want to know. I feel better just knowing eBay is aware somewhat of the ordeal even if they did just give us each others phone numbers to deal with it. I have no idea how the new bidder on the 2nd auction will handle things.

She needs to send YOU the bag as you were the high bidder on the original auction.

She needs to cancel the winning bid on the duplicate auction.

Let's see if she does the right thing here.

I hope she does the right thing but I sort of felt like she was leaving the door open with the whole "I'm confused" and "need to wait on eBay to proceed."

We shall see! I will update the thread once I know what to expect! For now I will let things ride (and try to stay calm). I just want to make sure I either A) get the bag or B) get my $$ back.

But thanks again for listening/reading my story. I was so worked up until I read the responses here.

Honestly - it COULD have been a mistake.

I had an item sell with BIN last night. When I went into "My eBay", it was not listed under "Selling" because it had sold. It was not listed under my "Sold" category, because that setting was defaulted to show "Items Sold Last Month". I had to change the view settings to see the items sold from This Month (July)

It could actually have been an honest mistake.... I hope you get it all worked out!!!

^^Thank you! I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding and I'm glad you explained how things appear on the seller end. That makes me feel better. I know it is always so clear to me as a buyer what I have/have not bought so that threw me a little.

I will update later to let you guys know if she chose me or the higher price bidder on the 2nd auction!

Thanks again ladies! Oh and the bag was a used chloe (someone had asked above and I completely forgot to answer in all my nervous frenzy).

I really don't want to give you any more to worry about, and considering it was used, along with the possible situation Sarah mentioned, that helps a little, but if you get your bag and she still sells another one with the same pictures I would look into making sure that yours is definitely real. I hope everything works out for you, that your bag is real, and it was just a mistake on the seller's part.
