So I've been hunting this bag for a while and was so happy to finally find it - Violet Spectator Sabrina. The seller stated it was new without tags and unused. Purchased in the spring 09 and stored in a dust bag. Flawless!
I was in heaven! Won the bidding and couldn't wait for the bag to get here!
What a disappointment... when I inspected the bag it had worn out corners, a small stain on the front - I haven't tried to clean it yet, as well as a couple more that looked like coffe maybe, lint in the pockets and in main compartment. But the worst thing was the bottom navy leather part of the bag is quite faded and so is the long strap compared to the two rolled handles. Also the wider part of the longer strap that is in the middle has stains and discoloration

Contacted the seller immediately and although she was initially willing to refund a portion of the price now she's changing her story telling me it was and expensive bag...
What would you do?

I was just about to tell you I was at outlet today and they had 2 spectra maybe you would like to call outlet but maybe I am too late

I've never encountered anything like this, so I don't know what your options are. But if she said it had never been used and it clearly has been, she needs to do something about it, whether it be giving you a partial refund or letting you return it. Do you still have the messages in which she says she'll do the partial refund? Maybe somebody with more knowledge on how these things work can chime in. Good luck!

Yes I have all the mesages. I'm just really upset now... I would not bid on a used bag.

Hello! Sorry to hear about your ebay experience. That just stinks!!

Can you post pics of the issues??

Also, I would have to say that it depends on what you're feelings are about it. Are the blemishes tolerable to you and was it worth the $$? Even if she agrees to refund you some $$ is that going to make you happy with the bag?

I would have to say that I'd return it based on what you stated the shape it's in. No amount of $$ would make me happy with her. But this is just my opinion and nothing else.

You do what's going to make you happy!! After all, you stated this was one of your most sought after bags! Why keep it if you're not happy?? Good Luck!! I look forward to the outcome!!

NOTE: Do not do anything to try and fix her or anything as this will null your return. I just wanted to let you know that. Make sure and take pics of everything on the purse--- for in the event you have to prove the state you received it was significantly not what she described in her auction. I must say that I'm not experienced in ebay stuff, so I'd let others chime in here who can provide more useful info! Everyone here is VERY helpful!!

O I don't think you necessarily posted in the wrong section, just thought some people in the ebay forum may have dealt with the same situation and could answer your questions more in depth

Oh I hve had this happen to me
he said it was in new condition - WTH the lining as so dirty I would not carry it and when I unzipped the inside zipper pocket - OMG it was stuck togeter with GUM- YUCK - well I freaked and contact him and said this bag was not WORTH what I paid and it was not in new condition but more like trash condition- I filed a claim with PP - and they gave me all my money back and I send that nasty bag BACK

so file your claim

Do I need to file a claim either way? Even if the seller seems to be willing to cooperate?

no need to file a claim if she will give a partial refund. if the seller then stalls on the refund then make sure you file a claim with paypal. tell the seller that you will give 48hrs to send partial refund or you will file a claim

I didn't read everyone's reply, so forgive me if I am repeating someone's advice... If you paid with Paypal, you can return the bag immediately with signature confirmation and as soon as your return has been confirmed, Paypal will refund your money. Contact Paypal and explain the situation, your payment is protected against misrepresented items. This happened to me before and Ebay suggested I do this because the seller was unwilling to work with me. Good luck!

I've decided to return the bag. I cannot keep it, it's not worth the money and even the refund (that the seller is now backing out of) won't make up for the disappointment and misrepresentation of the bag. It would always remind me of this whole bad experience. Again I wasn't looking for a used item, I passed on those before. Thanks for all your input Girls!
