I'm also wondering what happened. What a complete mess! I'm so sorry you've had to deal with that. It's the kind of nightmare that makes people want to stay far, far away from eBay.

Was this an eBay transaction? If so, google checkout is NOT an acceptable method of payment. Please report the seller to eBay.

Payment Services not permitted on eBay: AlertPay.com, anypay.com, AuctionChex.com, BillPay.ie, ecount.com, cardserviceinternational.com, CCAvenue, ecount, e-gold, eHotPay.com, ePassporte.com, EuroGiro, FastCash.com, Google Checkout, gcash, GearPay, Goldmoney.com, graphcard.com, greenzap.com, ikobo.com, Liberty Dollars, Moneygram.com, neteller.com, Netpay.com, paychest.com, payingfast.com, Payko.com, paypay, Postepay, Qchex.com, rupay.com, sendmoneyorder.com, stamps, Stormpay, wmtransfer.com, xcoin.com

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/...ts-policy.html

At the bottom of the page is the link to report a violation of this policy. See where it says Contact Customer Support. Doing so will protect other buyers on eBay. Might also help your case with your chargeback (when google finds out the seller was suspended they will probably back you up on your chargeback!).

Keep us posted-

Wow, I never knew there were so many checkout services. And thanks for reminding everyone, including me, that it's against eBay's rules to use them. That's really helpful when buying.

I agree with mmmpurses! that you will have plenty of ammunition to win your case and that you should report that rule violation to eBay. Do keep us posted.

^^^ If you notice the list of them are under examples. eBay don't accept in their site any other form of payment other than PayPal for credit cards transactions because they have a monopoly and of course they make more money with PayPal. The only "examples" of the ones recommended are most outside of USA or with very high fees. Even when you can't make a payment with Google checkout with Ebay (because they are not linked togheter). Every seller have the right to accept visa/ amex/master card thru their own merchant account (ex. google checkout wich is very good but of course main competition for PayPal)

BTW google checkout also have a buyer protection and the authorization process for a credit card is very strict and more secure than PayPal. The buyer have the option to report the seller to Google Checkout and Also with their credit card company.

Since this was an international transaction, the chargeback is governed by a set of international dispute rules by Visa or Mastercard, not by domestic rules for Singapore or Asia. Hopefully that will give you a little more protection.

Have you heard anything from the seller yet? I'm still really hoping it's just a mixup and you can get your bag soon!!

Gosh... I'll take pictures of the shoes and box when I get back tonight. Hopefully it's just a big mixup. The seller is dancing in my manolos and apparently she's a PF member. She's sold many bbags without problems and ironically, that's reassuring and more alarming at the same time. I'm NEVER buying anything costing more than 20 dollars on ebay ever again. The cheaper prices are just not worth all the incessant worrying and trouble. Buying from reliable merchants, be they online or brick-and-mortar, gives me a peace-of-mind that's priceless. DonnaK, that website that you posted was really helpful but it just reinforces how google checkout is reluctant to help buyers out. There's practically NOTHING for buyers in its FAQ. I wouldn't be so worried if it were an American bank I was dealing with. Hopefully everything irons out in the end and I get my money back. Then I'll get a work from BalNY/AR. No more ebay.

If I were you I would contact her local police (you can easily google their phone number to get info about how to go about it) unless she refunds you immediately. Bullying you into feeling bad about asking for advice is completely unacceptable when SHE was the one who messed up, and only underlines the suspicion that she is indeed trying to scam you. If I were you I'd contact her again and tell her that unless the money is refunded to you, in full, within 24 hours, you will contact [name of police station] at [phone number] and report her for fraud. Then I'd contact my credit card company and do a chargeback. Good luck, keep us posted!

Can you update us on this horrible situation? I hope that you have had your money refunded to your credit card. :)

Terrible seller. She should be put into jail for trying this.
If shes reads this, you are a dispicable person and you won't get away with it.
This will haunt you and you will have bad karma.

Thanks everyone. I've been sooooo busy with going back to college that I completely forgot to check back. Someone PMed me and I gave her an update on the status but gosh, I am soooooooo angry right now. The seller's making such a mess of my time and I have to buy my bbag out of my own funds since my mom is quite angry with me for buying off eBay.

So, I have sent the shoes back. They have arrived but were not collected. She has a PO Box address so maybe she instructed them NOT to accept it? I sent her an email but she hasn't responded. I got an auto response from her Yahoo mail, saying that she has some sort of family emergency. Gee, that's kind of convenient. If it's true, I apologise, but how much bad luck can a person have? Hospital then this? I don't know...

I have tried to call her using the number listed with her eBay account but it DOES NOT EXIST! Maybe the first few transactions on her account were with her own accounts/people she knew? Then she went on some big scamming spree? I don't know. She said that she was awaiting the shoes to "look for evidence." I don't know what sort of evidence she's looking for. But she's NOT looking. Apparently she was coming back on the 3rd of Feb, according to bbaglady but she hasn't responded and it's already the 5th. Anyway, why is there the need to look for evidence? Just ask the person who sent the package on your behalf. This is getting fishier and fishier.

My mom is going to the bank. They called her up and said that they were not waiting any longer for this issue to be resolved. If we want a chargeback, we'll have to do it soon after Chinese New Year, which is on the 8th of Feb. So I'm collecting all the emails I sent her and I'm sending everything back to my mom. I think that I might also print out a copy of the eBay transaction that bbaglady did with her and of the problems that bbaglady has been facing. I don't know. I can't believe that people like this actually exist. But I guess people can do anything for money, huh?

Toriatan, I've been following this thread and had hoped that the issue has been resolved to your benefit, and was dismayed to find that another pfer has had similar issues with the same seller when I read the "authenticate this" thread. I looked up this seller's completed auctions and feedback, and recognized a few buyer ids as fellow tpfers. Maybe they can chime in, but IF she is a scammer, they have been known to sell authentic items to build up positive feedback and then go in for the kill.

Sorry to hear that you're having so much trouble with doing the chargeback too. Hopefully, if the seller is really an active tpfer, she should come and clear her name.

I can't believe this has happened. I bid on one of her auctions awhile ago and got a second chance offer. I didn't accept it but then noticed that the person that bought the item in the first place left positive feedback. Maybe she had two of the item? Anyway sounds VERY fishy. I'd report her to the local police ASAP!

Three posts in a row here, but how safe IS Google checkout! I only know most recently the HGbags lady, Erica Brenning, has asked that you use Google instead of Paypal because Paypal charges 2.2 percent. You can use Paypal but you have to pay the 2.2 percent. I have used this Google checkout few times before on othe websites and thought it was perfecctly safew, like paypal. Maybe only eBay insists on Paypal because they are so closely intwined (as in making gaziliions together!!!!) or maybe it is just more secure?? I think I may post a new thread on this topic. THanks for any input. It really makes you think when a seller casually asks if you wnat to use Google to save fees etc. Hope the purple Bbag person did not get totally taken, but the Hospital, the Vans, the wrong numbers, and now no communication is not looking so good...there is a also quite a stir about this in the Balenciaga Authenticate thread.
