Default This makes no sense to me at all, just trying to rip me off?

I sold a pair of shoes to a lady on eBay yesterday for 130.00 plus 6.00 shipping. She has feedback, only 4 but all positive. Her shipping address is in California. Well I recieved a paypal payment and it had the option next to it to "claim" or "deny" which I had never seen before so upon checking out the details on it, the woman paid in foreign currency she paid in GSD I believe it said it was Singapore dollars. And the conversion rate for it would end up being around 80.00-85.00 USD. What is the deal! Why on earth would someone living in California pay in foreign currency? I have not done anything with the payment I neither claimed no denied it yet and I contacted the buyer to tell her the situation but she has not responded. Has anyone else ever had a buyer pay in foreign currency?

i recently paid for a bag i bought from the UK and im from the philippines...paid via paypal using amex...the pound was converted to dollars then converted to pesos so there wasnt a discrepancy

ex: invoice stated 335GBP converted to $664.87 then was converted to peso

maybe u should try contacting the buyer or ask ur bank about this?

Sounds like either she did not understand you were charging USD, or she hit the wrong button when paying you...

Let her know and if it was me I'd deny the payment.

Yeah I would wait until she contacts you...that is very strange that she is paying with money from singapore if she lives in Cali....something smells fishy.

That's not right.

I would definitely deny the payment.

I've never seen an option to pay in foreign currency, but is it possible her last transaction was in that currency and she forgot to change it back? I'd deny payment, but i wouldn't get upset yet.

This may be one of those situations that have been mentioned in some other thread where the person has a US address that forwards to them in whatever country, so they can more easily bid on US-only items. If it's a confirmed address, I wouldn't worry about it. But the buyer has to choose to pay you in USD in Paypal, and all the currency conversion would happen on her side. I would reject the payment and wait for her to respond.
