I've listed an item on eBay and I've had a few people bid on it then retract their bid. Should I be worried? Are they just bidding to see what the highest bidder has put on? If you cancel your bid does that mean you won't be able to bid on the item again?

Never experienced this before

Thanks

Not sure of the reasoning, perhaps they are testing the max bid of the previous bidder... that is odd. I haven't heard of that happening in excess before. But to answer your question yes they can bid again. However you have the option of now blocking those members, if it makes you uncomfortable letting them bid later on again. I would check their feedback (left for other sellers too) and see if they have any red flags, might help to decide. Good luck!

You should set up your preferences to take out those who retract bids, and if you don't have this, I would personally block anyone who bid then retracted and didn't immediately rebid.

Better to have them retract then win and not pay.

I would like to block them, but the notification email I get from ebay does not state their username.

I've looked at my preferences to block those who retract bids but I can't see it. Does anyone know if this is possible inthe UK? Or point me in the right direction of where to look.

Thanks for your help

I've found the name of the person who retracted their bid now.

I can't see it either, fongchau. I've checked the area of Seller Preferences where my options to block for non-payment/geography etc are set, but I can't see anything about bid retractions.
