Default is it bad to feel good because . . .
after having SO many non paying bidders since ebay removed the ability to leave buyers neutral/negative feedback, I have started to put buyer restrictions on my listings to stop buyers with more than X number of NPB strikes from bidding on my items - I am just sick of the time wasting and lack of response despite my very friendly communication.

Anyway, I had a buyer contact me to buy one of my items who said they couldn't bid because they didn't meet my buyer requirements ie. they must have a few strikes from unpaid items - and they really wanted to bid, and I thought, you know what - I am glad that finally these buyers are being punished in some way - I am sick of them not honouring their purchases with NO consequences and I secretly feel very very pleased that there is at least some sort of consequence for their actions!!!
Is that bad????

Don't feel bad! LOL! I've had buyer restrictions on my auctions forever. One would have to be damn near angelic to bid on anything I sell. Feels good, doesn't it?

Not bad at all. I set the same restriction too! They shouldn't even think of bidding.

I agree they are time wasters and should get some type of punishment!!!! Good for you,I hope they really want it and never get it.Maybe they see now how a seller feels...No I would not feel bad at all, obviously they have done this to others with no regrets

maybe if enough sellers do that, the NPB'ers will get the hint!

Nope not bad at all, I have never sold anything but I do buy on *bay, and as a buyer who does pay, sometimes I get outbid at crazy prices and then see the item listed a week or so later and the buyer who outbid me did not pay etc. this screws up the buyers who were serious, or who drop out because the price goes to high etc. So in some ways when you put strict requirements it helps those of us real buyers too.

I have my requirements set, but a woman bid on something of mine and when I checked her f/b, she was like a crazy person. I didn't cancel her bid, but did put her on blocked bidder.

When she was outbid, she sent me a screaming type message..why did you block me? I didn't bother to respond and got about 4 more messages, each one more hysterical than the last. Some of them were even quite threatening. Can't even begin to tell you how glad I was that I had done it. Imagine trying to deal with a person like that.

I used to check buyers f/b on other auctions, but, now with the skewed f/b availability on eBay, you can't do that. Have to wait until they actually bid.

No! Not at all! Relish in the little recourse sellers have!

I have pretty much every block there is on my listings. Phone verification, unpaid buying strikes, you name it. Might cut down bidders in the end but hey, least the chance is slightly less of getting a deadbeat.

I have mine set like that, but most of my auctions block bidders without a PayPal account. Maybe once or twice I've blocked for policy violations. At least we have a little control.
