You could try sniping the auction. I think a lot of people do that. There are some free sniping sites or at least ones where you get a certain number of free snipes per week.

That is exactly why you aren't winning the auctions, other people are either sitting there stalking the auction to manually snipe the auction at the last minute, or they are using a program to snipe it at the last second.

My suggestion is figure out the highest amount you are willing to pay for the item, bid that and then forget about it, if you win hooray, if not, doesn't really matter since you weren't willing to pay more than what you bid anyways!

Is it a specific bag that she wants? You could call an outlet near you, maybe it'll be there. eBay is really becoming more trouble than it's worth.

Do not make the mistake of bidding early! Bidding early will only jack up the price. Use a snipe program, like justsnipe. You get 5 free snipes a week. They will bid for you in the last 8 sec.

But watch eBay for fakes, there is a lot of them. If you are unsure post in coach authenticate section. Or goto a Coach outlet to get a deal. Or Macy's is having a great Coach sale now, 40% on spring/Summer bags.

Sniping is effective but you still have to go in with the highest bid. If you really like the bag, make sure you specify the highest price you are willing to pay for it in your snipe request.

You can download a free program called JBidwatcher:

http://www.jbidwatcher.com/

It is a powerful program and very easy to use. Just put in your details and you are ready to go. After you add an eBay auction, you can right click on it and select 'Snipe' - then you type in your absolute maximum you wish to purchase the item at. Then you go into the Configuration Manager, and choose when you want it to snipe in seconds. The default, I believe is 30.

So whatever that number is, is how many seconds it will count down to before it bids. So if the eBay auction has 30 seconds left before ending, the program will auto bid then. I'd suggest moving this number down to 8 or so if you have a fast connection, it takes a few seconds to go through so you don't want to risk not letting it go through.

I've always used JustSnipe..they allow a few,maybe 5(?) free snipes
a week. I pay $5 a month for unlimited..
The site is user friendly.
Good Luck!
