Not really. eBay is a huge freaking conglomerate. The only thing they care about is the bottom line.

Unfortunately for them, by penalizing so many sellers with this and other recent changes, they are effectively losing buyers as well. If sellers would dig in their heels and quit (not do that silly boycotting again), I mean QUIT and eBay's bottom line begins to suffer because there's nothing to buy, they might take notice.

However as I said above, they've got their counterfeiters selling all over eBay, so eBay still gets its fees from that. The only thing eBay cares about where counterfeiters are concerned is that they (eBay) doesn't get caught (and have to deal with more lawsuits).

I am so sorry to hear this. Although I have never personally dealt with you on evilbay (not to my knowledge, at least), it sounds like you were an honest and devoted seller.

This is really getting out of hand on their part. People are walking out left and right, and do they care? Probably not.

They really should can that new jerkoff CEO. He is ruining their reputation!!!!

Perhaps one of the problems with eBay's "customer support" is that there are thousands of 19 year olds (no offence to anyone 19 years of age) who work at these call centers and do not have the experience or business knowledge that they should have to deal with these issues. (?) There was one of these "ebay call centers" in my area, and it was quite a joke.

He seems to be the source of all these problems. Ever since they hired that idiot, eBay has become a joke..... The really sad part is how many sellers that actually make their LIVINGS selling on eBay that are being hit with this garbage. They are really screwed!!

I know. I never heard of these problems before Meg Whitman retired, and now since this schmuck has been their CEO, he is turning evilbay into a nightmare. A total nightmare!!!

Although I technically don't make my living off from them, I am making a nice monthly stipend until I find a job. So in the meantime, reading all of these comments is nothing but frustrating, to say the least. Good for you for standing up to these a**holes and telling them to put it where the sun doesn't shine.

Kudos!

PP, I'm so sorry about all of this. It's just heartbreaking to we small sellers! And it's tough for buyers out there who come to know legit sellers like you and me and count on us for a real bag when we want it.

This is very selfish, but I will greatly miss your brilliant authentications in the Prada forum. I hope you'll reconsider and continue there. You'll be sorely missed..

I got the exact same email word for word. Nothing more annoying than a canned response. I've been with eBay 9 years and have 100 percent positive feedback. So they "carefully reviewed my account" and still banned me for 90 days? what on earth am i supposed to do to get back in their good graces? Offer to mow their lawn?

I'm only sticking with them because I don't live close to any decent retail stores and I use eBay to buy a lot of designer clothing I can't find in my town. I'll continue to begrudgingly sell a few items here and there. But as soon as there is a decent alternative I'm outta there.

Meanwhile I applaud you pradaP! good for you for sticking up to them!

I'm truly sorry to know you are leaving eBay and no longer authenticating. I'm a buyer only, and have been reading the authentication of Prada thread because I have been wanting to buy a Prada bag; there are so many fakes on eBay that I've been studying up and being careful. Now I am even more convinced eBay may not be the place for me to buy my Prada. I'd rather pay more and buy from a store if honest sellers are being scared away.

Purely for selfish reasons, I hope you reconsider, at least in the authenticating. But I completely understand why you would choose not to. eBay's practices are mystifying and I'd be insulted, too, if I had your selling history and received that letter. The response is laughable, a generic form letter.

PP, I feel so sorry that this is happening to you. I have always been a buyer and having been conned a couple of times, I really appreciate a honest seller like you. It's been really upsetting to read about issues that seller like you have to deal with.

I really hope you can continue authenticating on Prada too. You know we can't do without you. Besides, don't you think that by authenticating you are fighting all those evildoers out there, busting crime, cleaning up the "streets" and helping honest sellers like yourself?

Whatever your decision, thanks for putting in all the hard work all these years. You saved me more than once.

I'm so sorry, and I completely understand your frustration. Evilbay isn't even worth the time and energy anymore. I am *this* close to quitting as well.

What a bunch of keystone cops! UMMMM...how are you supposed to do this when you've been restricted for 90 days??!?

IDIOTS!

I am SO SO sorry you went through this! You know you are not alone as 90% of us here who sell have gone through the same b.s. Please, please reconsider authenticating! Not everyone needs advice on eBay listings, some come from other sources as well. It would not be fair for handbag lovers to lose you on TWO venues!

I'm ready to quit too. Have been thinking about it all day yesterday. On the verge of crying. I haven't been banned but because of this lawsuit - no one is listing and buying. So PP - I feel your pain.

Oh my gosh. I've been planning to list some of my designer items on eBay and now I'm rethinking my decision. I've listed just one item recently and am really afraid that I'll get slapped with a fine/account suspension.

PP, I'm so sorry that this happened to you. You don't deserve it.

eBay has just become so ridiculous, and i too blame it on the new CEO. he's really taking the whole company down the drain. it seems like they just don't think through problems that potentially arise and what solutions fit best, which results in the most ridiculous consequences like penalization of good sellers like yourself. there are just so many countless scenarios in which a buyer or a seller can get completely totally screwed, and i think all the horror stories on tpf can attest to that. it's simply not worth it anymore. i've basically stopped buying on ebay and will probably not sell any big ticket items again.
