Default IF you think Ebay is bad Marketplaza is just as bad if not worse

I think all you purseforum girls who are desperately waiting to get onto the marketplaza should know what is going on. I purchased a Fendi Spy bag from a very reputable member of this forum it was in Brand New condition I never used the bag once and eventually decided to sell it. I sold to a supposedly honest buyer who after she received it emailed me which was the middle of my night U.K. time and before I even had a chance to reply she opened a dispute with paypal and escalated it to a claim immediately (does this sound familiar to all of you!!!!)she was stating that the bag was damaged but I knew that it was perfect when it left me so I refused to refund her, she then managed to convinced the moderators that she was telling the truth and I became banned for the marketplaza - which I can assure is no big deal! Since then because paypal would not help her she made a chargeback with eBay who gave her a full refund so just like Ebay she has got all her money back and has still got my handbag. She has never once send me a PM about when she is going to send my handbag back which was so badly damaged she could not use it - HOW STRANGE!!!!!!!!

I hope this person reads this she knows who she is. Maybe Megs would like to answer the PM that I send to her weeks and weeks ago regarding this matter.

It makes me so so sick that these people are getting away with this again and again.

I think I'm missing something too other than it being somewhat similar to certain eBay scams. How did she get money from eBay if you sold on tPF? That doesn't make sense.

sorry if it does not make sense I typed quickly as I am so annoyed, she got her money back from her credit card company she tried paypal but they would not help her as it was not purchased on eBay so she did a chargeback.

I am also interested in how you have access to the MP when you only have 278 posts?

What I wanted to put across is that you are no safer selling on the Marketplaza than you are eBay. People are ripping other honest sellers off everywhere quite frankly the Marketplaza lures you into thinking that because they are all trusted forum members that you are safe.

I was invited to join quite a long time ago, I think this new rule of you have to have over 500 postings was obviously only put into force after I joined.

well im not part of the market place but i don't think it's a safe place to buy from. Just because members posts a lot and are able to get into the market place doesn't mean they are honest.

sorry this has happened to you. Seems like your buyer a tpf member has scammed you. She got the money back AND is keeping the bag.

Were you a part of the MP when this transaction occurred?

SOLIDGOLD2 - Exactly! It was a £1200.00/$2500.00 bag which I sold for a bargain.

I am not a member of the MarketPlace but I have applied as I thought it was 'safer' than eBay, although I appreiciate that nothing on the internet is 100% guranteed.

I just hope that, whatever the full story is here, that the mods investigate as sorting out this issue will benefit every TPF-er.

I am actually baffled by the effort you put into badmouthing the MP if in fact, you have no clue how we have been operating it since the new rules were enforced. And that has been almost 2 years ago.

Is there some sort of misconception going on here? We do not guarantee that all transactions in the MP will go flawless and without headaches. Out of 15,000+ total transactions, there may have been a dozen occasions on which things went really bad. The purpose of the MP is to provide an added degree of confidence and pose as an alternative to eBay. One isn't immune to deal with a bad apple on the MP, but the chances are a bit slimmer than on eBay.
