Default I think this seller is "not truthful" (long, sorry)

So, a few weeks ago, I won an agenda on eBay for $195.00. I emailed the seller to please add insurance and then I would remit payment. The seller did so and I paid. I also asked her when she would be sending the package and would she please provide the tracking number.
3 days later (Tuesday), I emailed her again asking if the agenda had been shipped. She responded and said it would be sent out on Thursday, that was "her day" to stand on line at the PO.
Thursday night I emailed her again asking for the tracking number and didn't receive a response.
Friday morning she responded saying the package was ready to go and she would send me the tracking number later that afternoon.
I never heard from her Friday or Saturday.
So, Sunday, again, I sent her an email stating that she has had my money for 10 days and I don't have the agenda and she needs to send it to me or refund my money. I really didn't want to file a report.
This morning, I filed a complaint for item not received. In the complaint, I said I wanted the agenda and as long as I receive it and it's authentic (as her auction guaranteed), I would still leave positive feedback. She has been a seller since 2002 and has 100% feedback. I did some checking today and another buyer purchased an item from her the Tuesday before me and has received her item!
So anyway, I finally got a response from her tonight. She says she got "dealthly ill" on Thursday night, but her brother-in-law went to the PO and sent out the package. She provided a tracking number, but USPS doesn't have any record of it and the # starts with "VG" which I have never heard of, usually USPS tracking numbers are a million numbers long (no letters).
If she got "deathly ill" thursday night, how did she email me on Friday saying she was sending it out that day? I am so frustrated!
I made a committment to her when I placed a bid and she is not fulfilling her commitment when my bid won and she accepted my payment/money. I am worried I'm either not going to receive the agenda and I'll have to keep fighting to get my money back or it's going to be fake (not the one pictured in her auction).
I've only purchased a few things (8) on eBay and the experiences have been great. Now I'm dealing with this. I think the only reason I have heard from her is because I filed a complaint. I hated to do it, but some stranger isn't going to keep my money and not send me what I paid for!
Sorry this is so long, I just had to get this off my chest.

That VG number sounds like the insurance number, which cannot be tracked. Good luck and I hope the agenda arrives safely and authentically!

I hope your item arrives safely!

I recently won an item that stated the shipping would be $7 for Priority Mail, and then on the checkout, she added mandatory insurance of $2. When it arrived, she paid all of $2.22 with no insurance, and it went First Class. I wish sellers would stop outright lying when it comes to their shipping policies.

Stupid stupid people ... (seller not you)

Bad news, as others said that is the insurance number and not tracking which must be purchased separately unless the shipping was printed online.

Good news, without shipping if you don't receive your package you would automatically win any claim filed with Paypal since they can't provide tracking/delivery confirmation as required. They didn't have to make you sign for it unless it was over $250, but they have to be able to provide tracking.

I would report that... can't claim one shipping method in listing and send another (cheaper) way.

I called the PO today and it is the insurance #. How long do you think I should wait to receive the package? It's being shipped from NY to MI.

Don't count on receiving it. It is probably seller's regret. She got a better price elsewhere. A couple of months ago, I bought a bag at the opening bid price, paid for it, and finally, after filing a claim, got my money back. The seller kept lying and never did send the bag.

If it was mailed Thursday Priority mail it would have been here in MI on Sat. Since it is Wednesday night time to file NPS ASAP. I think even parcel you would have gotten it by now. However, it may still turn up but I would still file tonight.

DO NOT WAIT! Particularly since you said it had been a few weeks since the end of auction. Since she doesn't have tracking you would automatically get your money back!

Did they tell you when the seller ACTUALLY sent it out? She might have just said "thursday" but I am sure it actually got sent a lot later than that.

If she sent it out on the 29th yous houd be receiving it either on Thursday or Friday. If you don't receive it by then you should definitely file a claim with Paypal. A FEW WEEKS? There is NO excuse for that!! SHAME ON HER. Even if she became "deathly ill" she should have gotten someone to take care of it MUCH sooner.

Tell us how it goes.
