Default I never received my item...do I have any options?

A couple of weeks ago I purchased a MAC lipglass on eBay. It was shipped, and the tracking shows it was delivered, but I didn't receive it. I've been in touch 4 times to be exact with my post office, who have honestly been less than helpful. The tracking shows it was delivered at 7:40 am on 7/5...first, I was home at that time and second...I never have mail delivered that early...which the postmaster agreed with me when I told him that, they they never deliver that early. My regular carrier was on vacation and they've told me each time I call they will check with the person filling in, but they never return my phone calls, I've had to call back 3 times to follow up. And from the last phone call it doesn't sound good...

I didn't purchase insurance. I usually don't on smaller less expensive items, but do when I bags, etc from eBay that are of more value. And the seller states in his auction that he is not responsible for lost items if insurance is not purchase...which I agree with.

Do I have any options? Probably not right? The tracking clearly shows it was delivered. I wondered if I filed a paypal claim would I be covered. I don't want it to be anything agains the seller as it was my fault that I didn't purchase insurance, And it was only $17 but I'd like to recoup my funds if possible.

Any advice? TIA!

I honestly don't have much experience with something of this nature. So from what I can tell, I doubt PayPal would honor your claim if the tracking through the PO shows it was delivered. In that case, it would appear that you received the item and want a refund, as well. IDK.

I would still get on the PO's butt and ensure that they research this. It could have been something where someone stole it or it was delivered to the wrong address. Do you live in an apartment complex or anything where there are several units? If not, maybe check around with your neighbors to see if they received it by accident.

Otherwise, I honestly don't know what to suggest since it shows it was delivered.

Sorry I couldn't help.

Hopefully someone else will have a better response.

I know, this probably would look to paypal like I received it but wanted my money back (not the case, but I can see how it would look)

I am going to call the PO again tomorrow or Tuesday. I don't live in an apt. complex, and I've never had any issues with anything being stolen when it was delieverd. I've even had bags left on my deck, and no issues.

I know it's a little thing...not much money, but damn it! I wanted that lipglass! MAC doesn't sell it anymore!!

I'll keep bugging the PO I guess...

Thanks so much for responding!

Once it shows delivered, that's it. In the future tell the seller to add signature confirmation and offer to pay.

I put signature confirmation on anything looking like it is going to an apartment or office building.

You are going to have to fight it out with your post office. PayPal will not help you if the item is showing as being delivered.

If the delivery confirmation number show that the item is delivered then paypal won't side with you in the dispute. Go to the post office and ask to speak with the post master and s/he might be able to help you. This happened to me before but I received my package two days later with no explanation whatsoever.
