The OP ased if it was possible to ship right away and the seller said yes. It is not unreasonable for her to be cross if this didnt happen.
Sorry for your frustration, I hope the bag is greta when it finally arrives.

Even if the seller had shipped the same day (17th) or the next day (18th), there is no guarantee that the package would have arrived by yesterday (21st) "at the latest". The seller can't control the postal system. I didn't see any mention of it in your post, so was the shipping even Priority? If you had a time issue, there definitely should have been some effort on your part to upgrade the shipping. Since you are asking the seller to go out of her way to ship something faster than she would normally (and she does have 7 days), it is only fair for you to pay for the shipping service that will guarantee you get your package in time. Also, you said in your post that you emailed the seller "tonight" and "got no response". I understand that you're upset, but it's unreasonable to expect the seller to respond instantly to your email. I don't think that counts as a lack of response.

I agree that the seller should have done what she said she would do (and I can't imagine what the shoes business is all about...hopefully she didn't actually send you shoes), but to the OP...it does seem like you had some unreasonable expectations from the outset.

Oh, it's a completely different situation when you live that far from a post office! I just assumed everyone lived within a close proximity to one (I pass three just going to work every day!) Also, if you state in your auctions that you only ship on certain days, etc...

The only guaranteed shipping delivery is Express Mail.

Her expectations were only unreasonable if the seller couldn't comply. When each seller has completely different shipping policies and dates I don't think it is unreasonable for a buyer to ask questions about shipping and expect the seller to follow through. Each scenerio is different IMHO.

I am not really sure what really happened by the OP's post. Did she specify what day she needed it by? Did the seller say she would ship on a certain day or get it by a certain day? I think those things need to be clarified

LOL..I wish I lived close to the post office..I also wait in line to what seems to be a life time..But sometimes an easy half an hour..

Caannie below is not geared towards you..

This is what is at the bottom of ALL listing's on EBay depending on what shipping service you chose. This is posted by ebay. It is in fine print..

US Postal Service Priority Mail®
Estimated delivery 5-6 days*
Sellers are not responsible for service transit time. This information is provided by the carrier and excludes weekends and holidays. Note that transit times may vary, particularly during peak periods.

Of course I don't think it's unreasonable to to ask questions or make other shipping arrangements with their seller and expect them to follow through, and that's not what I was trying to say. I said that it wasn't right for the seller to not ship immediately, but that even if she had the buyer likely wouldn't have gotten the package in time to suit her. Priority Mail probably would have gotten the package there by today, but she never said whether the seller was even shipping Priority, much less Overnight. I think the OP should definitely clarify what the agreed on shipping method was. If the seller was supposed to ship immediately (reasonably meaning that day or the next) and use Priority mail, then I agree that the OP was reasonable to expect it to get there in time. Heaven forbid she was using regular Parcel post and the OP didn't ask (and offer to pay more for) an upgraded shipping method, though. In that case the OP's expectations were definitely unreasonable. And as everyone else has said, if you have that kind of time limit, Overnight is the only way to know you're going to get it in time.

That is all irrelevant, of course, because the seller is wrong for not shipping when she said she would. I just want anyone reading this to understand how these things work so as to avoid situations like this in the future. I'm sure that many sellers have had their stars dinged because someone got it into their head that shipping takes 3 days (or whatever) no matter what the method and don't take into account having to package the item/get to the post office/etc. and then blame the seller when their package isn't there precisely 72 hours after they pushed the Pay Now button on PayPal.

All I am saying is that it was the sellers job to let her know that by doing the research instead of giving a quick "ASAP" answer and that the buyer needed to be specfic of when she absolutely needed it by. Not all buyers understand USPS like we sellers do that is why they rely on asking questions. If she didn't specify the date she needed it by then it is her fault. If she did and the seller couldn't get it there to her in time then that is their fault for agreeing to make the sale.

The transaction should never have been made...period. IMHO it sounds like ineffective communication all around as well as the unfortunate combination of inexperienced buyer and seller (as far as a speedy transaction is concerned).

^ I agree totally, AC.

I just found the listing, OP, and it's a gorgeous bag. I hate that you probably won't get it in time for your vacation, but at least you'll have a great-looking bag (and hopefully, not shoes) to come home to. Has the seller replied to your email yet?

ETA: The original listing states Standard shipping for $8.95, but they might have agreed to something different.
