Angry I need some advice....

I don't sell on eBay that much. I have sold a couple of bags. But I have a bag that I need to sell to get some $$. I researched it in past listings, current listings, etc. I priced it at what I felt was a fair start price. Plus I put free shipping. My auction was 7 days and it just ended a few minutes ago -- NOT SOLD. I just don't get it. I see others out there and they are selling for more than what I started this bag out. Plus there are about 8 of the same bag out there, all either priced more or by seller with 94.5% FB (with bids)!!! I have 100% feedback and I had good pics.
I am really down on selling on eBay and thinking of not relisting.
Any suggestions?

If you have been keeping up with the new restrictions eBay has placed on seller accounts, you will realize that you may not be allowed to relist. You might want to check on that.

As for the reason your bag did not sell, that I cannot tell you. However, I would suggest that you start your next listing at $9.99 and list with a reserve. I realize that many buyers do not like reserve items, but I sell that way quite a bit. I also note in my auctions that I will be happy to disclose the reserve to anyone who emails me. Sometimes, the key is to get an actual auction going. That is what the $9.99 starting price does. For some reason, if an item has bids, it is more attractive to most buyers. If you prefer, you could also list the bag as a Buy It Now item with Best Offer considered. Best of luck!

I agree with jjyounger -- list it at auction style but put a reserve on it (you don't want it going for 99 cents!).
Or you can list at a price - perhaps a little more than you want to get - and then use the Best Offer feature.

How are your pictures? Did you take lots of clear pics and lots of closeups (epecially of the tags etc.)
And here's a suggestion - take the pics outside - the lighting is so much better and they look great when you do that =)

How many watchers did you have?

It also might have to do with the holiday weekend. I'm guessing a lot fewer people were checking out eBay this weekend. If you feel it was a fair starting price, it might be worth relisting it tonight (if you are allowed to relist) and see if it sells now that it won't be ending right after a holiday weekend.

Are you sure some of the other sellers aren't shill bidding on their own auctions?

I also think that items get more bids when they have a low start price - but the problem is, if you're an honest seller and don't shill bid, you have to set a reserve, which is expensive.

If eBay really cared about shill bidding, they'd make adding a reserve free of charge (or incorporate it into the overall listing/FV fees); as it is at bricks and mortar auction houses.
