Question I have an ebay question, :ie non-paying bidders

I have had a lot of new buyers with 1 or 0 FB. And just like a lot of you they are not paying! Is there a way to block them from buying? If I list a BIN how do I get them to have to pay immediately? And if I make them have a PP account to bid do you think this will help? I am so tired of having to wait, sending invoices & emails, and not getting a response. Can I go ahead & relist after 5 days-& if they do decided to pay an I just refund their $? WWYD?

When you list an item as a BIN, there is a box to check (further down the listing page) if you require immediate payment. If payment is not made, the listing stays up. You might want to say in the listing that if a bidder has less than whatever number of feedback, they must email you prior to placing a bid or doing a buy it now.

If you are concerned about 0 and 1 fb bidders in an auction-type listing, check your bidders frequently. If they have such low fb that you don't want to deal with them, cancel their bids and put them on your blocked bidder list.

I do believe that requiring PayPal helps somewhat with this, but it is no guarantee. You may go ahead and relist, but if you do so before 8 days after an auction ends, that NPB can leave you negative feedback. I wait until the 8th day, but have lost other buyers that way.

I am just SO DONE with those non-paying bidders. I am just asking myself why they bid if they don't intend to pay. I sell brand new BCBG stuff at 1$ and they don't even pay!!! They just are pain in the ***.

jjyounger, thanks I did not know about that.

In the last few weeks I have had 2 non paying bidders for a Chanel and Prada bag, both had zero feedback. I have been selling on eBay for 2 1/2 years and the last month has been a nightmare!

I think there are MANY more NPB's than there were before the feedback changes. When I sell an item, if it is not paid for immediately, I don't feel positive that payment will be made eventually. I don't count on it until payment is complete. Even with the restrictions and being allowed to list only one item a week, I am still a nervous wreck! I suppose I can understand someone not being able to pay for a $1500 and up bag better than I can understand someone buying an item under $50 and not paying. Why do they even bother? It is becoming so stressful to sell on eBay, I am on the verge of quitting.

Recently I had a NPB for a $10 bedsheet. I looked at her bidding history to see why she didn't pay, and it was because she bought another bedsheet for $5 from a different seller. Unbelievable. Buyers wouldn't do that kind of thing before all these feedback changes (usually).

ITA! eBay has opened the door for any buyer to do anything they please. It has changed selling on eBay from a pleasure to a chore.

To answer all the OP's questions:

Is there a way to block them from buying? Only buyers with -1, not 0 or 1.

If I list a BIN how do I get them to have to pay immediately? There's an option to require immediate payment in the listing section of the site.

And if I make them have a PP account to bid do you think this will help? No.

I am so tired of having to wait, sending invoices & emails, and not getting a response. Can I go ahead & relist after 5 days-& if they do decided to pay an I just refund their $? WWYD? You can relist but if it's before the eBay mandated 7-day payment period the buyer can file a claim against you for being a non-performing seller if they do wind up paying and you've sold the item to someone else.
