I understand. I wish I could help you with that, but I don't have a clue. As I posted on the other thread, I think you'll have better luck getting advice about how to color the bag, etc., if you post a thread in the YSL subforum. You could also try the general Handbags & Purses subforum.

I can see why it was moved, kuz in addition to how to "fix" whatever is wrong with the bag, there's a SNAD issue that would normally be discussed here. But since both buyer and seller are TPFers posting about the same transaction, a return/refund/SNAD discussion won't be possible. But I still think she could get advice about what to do with the discoloration, smell, whatever, and owners of YSL Muses will probably have much better advice about that than we do.

How did you pay for this bag? If you paid with a cc you can contact your cc

company and challenge the charge based upon the info you are providing here.

You should not have to deal with discoloration and a smell. That is simply

unfair and unacceptable, in addition to misrepresentation of the handbag.

What really upsets me is that I did never ask for any refund - just advice on what to do.
I could just post negative feedback to her, but instead I emailed her just saying FYI I am not satisfied, reasons, and that I understand I cant get a return due to your policy, please advise. I left it in her court to handle gracefully and respectfully.
And what I get is being called " full of it" and that I have "buyers remorse".
Not worth my time to deal with this. I called YSL store and they will be picking up the bag on Monday to help deal with the discoloration on the side and help with the smell.
I will post pictures however just to demonstrate my point. BTW - today is Friday and I received the bag Wednesday night. I wish I could photograph the smell too..

You could get the color restored at Lovin My Bags. That would be an option, if you really love the bag. The seller should pay for that in the form of a partial refund. No telling what really happened to the bag, but I would venture that it's not worth the $900with those flaws. Restoration would probably run $200 or more...you'd have to get a quote from Barb at LMB.

I was thinking to dye it myself. After reading what this seller is saying about me do you really think she would pay for LMB coloring?? Rather than to have my name trashed in this respectable forum, I would rather take care of the repairs myself. Of course I cant resell this bag never ever due to smell!!! So my only hope is that either YSL will fix this ( they are picking up the bag on Monday) or that I will have to dye it myself.

for the smell...i was giving it some thought.

can you put a sliced-open lemon and put it in a container/bag with the muse 2...so hopefully the lemon will absorb the bad odor. make sure the lemon doesn't touch the bag. or is there anything out there absorb the odor?? you might want to use something more advance than the lemon.

I think having a pro dye the bag would be your best solution. The seller doesn't want the bag back BUT if you believe that it's in worse condition than she described, then maybe a partial refund would be the best solution, especially if you do like the bag style and want to keep it. In this case, enough refunded to cover the cost of restoring the bag would solve this issue IMO.

Baking soda has always worked well for me. Never tried the lemon yet.

I use unscented odor-absorbing kitty litter to remove odors and it works pretty well, but if the odor is in the dye I would imagine it would keep coming back.

OP, when you contacted the seller to tell her you weren't happy, what did you hope she would do?

I am not sure that I would want to be dyeing this bag.. think it is left best for a professional mainly due to the color and that it might rub off when you wear it.

As far as the smell goes, the suggestions above are all good.

Also may wnat the seller to pay or contribute for the cost of the dyeing of the bag.

She sounds like some pice of work,if you ask me. Nasty and unprofessional.

IS this a must have for all you are going to be subjected too?

This is a good question. The response directly would depend on seller's integrity, customer service level and personal feeling of responsibility to provide buyer with best experience. I left it in her court. The response could be one of the following:
A. I am so sorry you are not satisfied. I did not notice these defects, I usually dont accept returns but I want to make sure my customers are happy, would you like to return the bag? I will have to deduct shipping and paypal fees from the return purchase, but hope this works for you.
B.I am so sorry you are not satisfied. I did not notice these defects, and I usually do not accept returns, but would a partial refund be acceptable?
C. I am so sorry you are not satisfied, I did not notice these defects, and I dont accept returns. May be you can try to take it to a professional cleaner? How about contacting YSL? Let me see if I can recommend somebody.
4. I am so sorry you are not satisfied, I did not notice these defects, and I dont accept returns. This is a final purchase. Have you checked on purseforum if this is a common problem with muse bags? May be there is a fast way to get rid of the smell. I will do some research and get back to you.

THe list goes on.

At the bottom of the list would be getting no response at all - which is what happened.

Now, what I did not expect is that she would start a thread here, instead, and use words like "buyer remorse" and "she is full of it".....claiming that I would probably send her back a fake bag!!!!
