Default I bought a bad Louis Vuitton, Now What?
I got duped. I bought a fake LV on ebay. I have begun a case, which has now elevated to a claim thru paypal. I am angry that the woman will not refund money and is causing me this stress in my life. I read that I can do a host of other things (It was a fashionphile entry from 2005, I believe), such as filing a claim of mail fraud, etc. I am looking for a more updated list of things that I can do. Thanks in advance,
Eve

Here's the bag: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

PS - I brought it to a LV store and they actually laughed at me. The color is off, and the screws are regular (not star/flower shaped). Also, was told that the serial number is not located where the buyer points to, in her pictures.

First, be very certain the item is counterfeit.

If it was shipped via USPS, you can file a mail fraud claim.
If PP requires a letter of NON-AUTH, that can be obtained via caroldiva.com.

If PP does NOT find in your favor, and you paid w/ a credit card, your CC co may be able to file a charge back for you. You would need to contact your CC co to determine the time frame in which same can be filed.

At this point, it's a "wait & see" how PP rules. It can help to report the listing & hope ebay will remove it. There is a "Report this LV" thread on the LV forum. Report This LV

Yes,it is for sure fake..I have one same style different color combo.Yes contact the auth board and hopefully it can become removed. You can also contact Carol Diva she can do a non auth letter for you, which they will listen to her as she is a expert. If PP does not rule in your favor hopefully you paid via cc as you can do the chargeback.I know some sellers on ebay are scammers and liars... I just got done dealing with one.I agree they SUCK and should NOT be on ebay.Just try to relax and stay on it..GREAT LUCK..Sending good vibes...

Yes, the item you bought is indeed a fake. What you can do is contact caroldiva for an authentication letter (which they will charge you a fee for it) and submit it to paypal. They should be able to use that proof and rule in your favor and refund your money completely.

I'm sorry OP! I know how frustrating and stressful it is but hang in there. I dealt with sellers like this before and they suck. Consider this a lesson and be sure to get bags authenticated here before buying. Good luck!

get caroldiva or mypoupette to authenticate so that you have proper proof for you claim with paypal if you need it, they are pretty good at recognising those for claims as I went through this myself recently

To understand you: Are you saying that the bag you received is different from the bag shown in the auction pics? Because other than distortion from flash, the pics show what sure looks like an authentic pink Cherry Blossom papillon, with the right screws. HOWEVER, if def. looks more used than "10 times" and has quite a lot of patina, so it did see the light of day, a lot. In other words, probably described too positively for the condition. But it doesn't look fake to me.

So, did you get the same as shown or a fake instead of what was shown? If it's the same, I think you may be wrong about it being fake.

It is the one from the pic. ... there was no flash distortion, that is actual color. Check out the date code, I was shown that in a real LV Cherry blossom, date code is in another location, not where this fake LV has it.

Didn't know they still had this bag in stores? And also didn't know LV would take a look and pronounce a bag a fake? Which LV store was this? I am sure a lot of people would like to know they could do this if they need to.
Probably you will need to get a letter from CarolDiva saying it is fake if you are sure this is fake. You should definitely get this and any other bags authenticated here before buying. LV scammers abound! Keep us posted and hope you get your money back.

On second look I do think it's fake; I missed the date code shot. Sorry. Regardless, you can do SNAD. You will need acceptable proof. GL.

^^^ I think the screws are wrong. I think the authentic bag has screws with six points. Those just look like standard phillips head screws. See the screws on the cherry blossom bag in this listing for reference:

I am just following up. I thought this might be helpful to anyone who finds themself in the same position. I continually checked on me paypal claim and after a few days it said that Paypal had requested info from me. I, however, had never recieved an email from them. Eventually, I found out that with hotmail, paypal is a blocked email address. Luckily, I kept checking claim so this did not affect me. I removed paypal from my blocked list and then a rep resent the email.

Paypal did request a letter that would back my claim that bag was not authentic. I have already been in contact with Caroldiva (thanks for that info). Hopefully, I am on my way to resolving this, but I think it will probably end up costing me between $60-80, with the letter and shipping. This really sucks. I think the seller should be responsible for this nonsense. I know it's better than being out $500, but I still feel that I shouldn't be out anything....I guess that I am paying for my innocence/ignorance.

I wrote an email to the seller telling her that I am going to be out this money due to her ignorance/dishonesty. I told her that she should be ashamed of herself. I also told her that I may have to lose my money but

The letter from CarolDiva through e-mail is only $6, so you shouldn't have to spend too much out of pocket. It is really unfair you have to pay for anything!

I think that the fee you reference is ONLY for an opinion via email of pix or an auction listings. Carol does charge more for the official letters required by PP for SNAD claims. PP will not accept an email from Carol if they have required an official LETTER of NON-AUTH.
