Default How to ship a purse?

Hello everyone,

I am wondering what you all would recommend when shipping a purse? What packaging material would you use to protect the purse and how would you package it. Would you put anything in it so that it would not lay flat/ get smushed. Would you wrap it up? Any advice appreciated!

Thanks

use a box with space in it so the bag isn't crammed in, put some tissue in the bag if you like, most of the bags i've received over the years haven't had anything inside though.
i would wrap some tissue around the bag before placing in the box and make sure it isn't rattling around inside, perhaps bulk out with those packing polystyrene things, or more paper.
address it clearly and put senders address on it too.
thats my way anyway !

I have an "end roll" from the local newspaper, it's unprinted paper & it's too small for the newspaper to load on the press, I think it makes excellent packing material & I stuff my own handbags with it to keep their shape.

I have always stuffed them with something (tissue paper or plastic grocery bags) and then put the purse in a plastic bag just in case the box gets wet.

Good idea!

Definitely use a box that's big enough and put something in there sufficient enough to cushion it. If it's something that's more structured, I'd stuff it with tissue paper. And securely seal all edges of the box....I get a little tape happy sometimes, but you can tell if it's been tampered with.

I always stuff handbags for shipping (and when I am not using them). I don't know how long it takes for a "storage wrinkle" to settle into the leather but I would not want to take any chances. Besides, most purses look better when they are stuffed and first impressions are important. Then I put the purse in its dustbag and put it into a box that is not so small that it is squished anywhere or so big that it rattles around. I use lots of tape as well.
