I'm not a huge seller, but 1-3 times a year I'll put several items on
eBay. Last time was March/April. One of my items was a Chloe bag for $599 and this buyer did a BIN (after lowballing and begging! I should have known, grrr).
Anyway, she claimed she never got the bag. As soon as she emailed me that info, I was proactive - called HER post office, called Paypal, etc. I had delivery confirmation, did the postage through PP, but was brainless and did not have sig confirmation or insurance b/c she chose not to (:THUD: I know, I know!). I usually will list postage rate and include insurance, but didn't for this group of stuff. THe main reason for that was when I was doing the listings, I kept getting a message that my "postage seemed high compared to similar listings." It WASN"T, in fact it ended up sometimes being too low. Whatever, I screwed up.
I continued to email her; she would answer that she still didn't have it, didn't know what to do about it, what can I do about it, etc, but she was NOT on my case and never initiated emails to me. I thought that was strange because situation reversed, I would be emailing the seller, pp,
eBay nonstop! Nothing was ever resolved, and she never left feedback. She's not a novice, has a few hundred feedback as both buyer and seller.
My question is - the sale was April 4th. I have been afraid to buy or sell anything on
eBay out of concern that she'll jump on Paypal and have any funds frozen or taken. According to the info on Paypal, the statute of limitations or whatever is long past, but is that really true? Can she still claim my funds through Paypal or ebay?
Why would someone DO that and not leave any feedback at all? People are so strange. I've been stressing about this for months. Between this and
eBay's new rules, I'm about to close my account.
Any advice or words of wisdom? (other than "purchase insurance!" ha, lesson learned!).
Thanks.
