Default How do you sell something and not realize it???

Just a warning to everyone to beware of seller who ran this auction

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=010

Looking at prior negative feedback the buyer had rec'd. I contacted the buyer before bidding to confirm that she actually had the bag IN HAND. She confirmed that she did have the bag.

I won the bag, paid immediately. Two days later no word about shipping so I contacted the buyer to ask when they might be shipping. About 24 hours later she says she made a mistake and doesn't have the bag, that it was a duplicate listing. "After searching for two days for the bag, I realized that I do not have the bag and I mistakenly listed it twice."

I questioned how this would happen when I explicitly asked her if she personally had posession of the bag and she confirmed. She actually responded that she "can't tell if the listing is duplicate until she sells the items and goes to look for it"!!!

Just FYI, she did not have another concurrent listing for the same bag and I went back a month to see if she had had the bag listed recently and did not locate it. I've asked her to send me the duplicate listing number because now I'm just annoyed.

She did refund me, but how annoying!

I woud suggest that you may want to stay away from this seller or at least proceed with caution.

Nice bag!
I've purchased from this seller. They are high volume with a staff, so I can see how they could make the mistake. They are also a bit flaky, IMHO. Ask her to sell you the bag she has listed in the dup listing. They are very easy to work with and do anwser your concerns quickly.
Hope you get that lovely LT bag!
Cheers,

Wow, she have over 8,000 items listed. I'm sure this was a mistake and with communication you can work something out. Good Luck!

This lady deals with alot of authentic designer bags. I've purchased from her. It sounds like an honest mistake.

linda*s***stuff is one of the sellers who I always watch their auction, they have many items and like a consignment store. Usually consignment store like that is so professional but I really shock they do something like LT explained. I understand that you're so disappointed now... <<huge>>

I have bought several things (Chanel, high end jewelry) from her in the past. She is really very nice. I believe now that the volume of her operation has gotten quite a lot bigger, so that may explain the problem here. She has always tried to work with me as a buyer --whatever I asked of her. She refunds immediately if you don't like your item or if there is anything at all wrong. That doesn't make it 100% for your experience, but maybe give her another chance??

I, too have bought many items from this seller, 2 of which I had to return because of mistakes in the listings. I was promptly refunded.
I believe she has about 30 employees working under her and the store is very high volume.
People make mistakes, but I can understand why you are angry and disappointed.

She's one of the good ones.
I hope you give her another chance.

I have never purchased anything from her but she has a lot up for auction, with such a high volume it could have been a honest mistake.

It sounds like she's a professional, honest seller who made an honest mistake. I'm glad you got a refund and were able to sort it all out. I can understand your frustration.

Thanks everyone for your insights. She does seem very nice. I've actually emailed her and offered to talk with her about her current process for tracking - I have some expertise in this area. I'm thinking maybe I can offer some easy low-tech steps to avoid the situation going forward.

Thanks everyone for letting me know this seller is generally good to deal with.

Oh sorry that happened. I understand the seller is reputable but she is huge so maybe her systems didnt update the bag was sold and she thought it was still available. You will find another..

Her volume is HUGE and I don't think she has total control over her ops. I bought a Fendi Borghese Selleria from her and it was shipped folded up and squashed into a cruddy old box (actually the shipping box that priority mail #10s come in). When the UPS driver handed me the box, I thought they shipped me the wrong item because I knew that big honking bag could NOT possibly fit in that little flat box. Well, there it was in its scrunched & folded glory.

She sent me a form email asking for 5 star feedback and I replied that it took a lot of nerve to take a $2190 retail purse and fold it up and stuff it in a tiny box and then charge double markup on s&h. She seemed genuinely mortified and gave me an unsolicited Paypal credit for the shipping dept. mistake and apologized profusely. Sometimes you can get really good deals because whoever writes her descriptions does not always seem to know what certain things are (like a NWT D&G eelskin purse listed as "leather").

She seems like a nice person with authentic items but maybe needs a little more hands on management.

I am really sorry you got caught up in her bureacracy and sincerely hope you get a really great deal in the future for the same bag!

It truly may not be the sellers fault I have experienced eBay duplicating the listings - I don't list very often but when it did happen to me my listings were being duplicated during the hour or so I was listing. I was like wtf is going on? I know I hit "list" once but item appeared 2x. So these glitches happen and I can only imagine how hard is it to tell for volume sellers because of the sheer number of listings they carry.

However I agree she (or the employee) should have physically confirmed stock when you asked that specific Q before BIN.

Yeah, it just sounds like an honest mistake...at least she was sincere about it and refunded your money back.
