If the bag is selling on ebay I assume it's used, even if it's listed at NWT it's still a second sale and who knows what they paid for it. I expect to pay far less for a bag on ebay then one at the store. If I wanted to pay retail or near retail I'll get it at a coach store or outlet, I shop at ebay for deals. I also assume that the seller will take a loss for it, after all she did buy it and probably used it a few times and is now selling to try and recoup some of the money back to put towards her next bag. But that's just my way of thinking about it. I normally ignore every BIN auction and go for the real auctions.

i agree, i think *bay should be a place to get deals. and i prefer to buy from sellers like me, someone that is into Coach because they love them and have a collection of them. for me, i am a impulse buyer, and sometimes i don't get around to using the bag, so its new. and if i used it, i would say so, and i would say how many times i probably carried it.

im confused on why you would ignore a BIN? a lot of Coach lovers list that way. they are not all re-sellers. i have come across tpf members that have their bags listed as BIN / Best offer.

The wording on the listing is a dead give away on if its a coach lover or a re-seller for profit.

I would never pay near retail on ebay for a designer item, I don't see much point in that. I'm sure lots do and that's fine. I always go to an outlet for my Coach items and can usually find them a good 75% off retail.

whatever
I've been to two different Coach outlets this Summer and both times we have been handed 10% off coupons when we walked through the door that were good on all items purchased that day in the store. Both stores had tables of items that were up to 50% off retail, so there are lots of great bargains to be found.

As far as people selling Coach for profit, they are probably getting it from craigslist sellers, outlets(which is really not a good deal), or maybe they just had them and need to get rid of them at this point.
Already covered in this thread, but just to be clear...that is flat out untrue.

Coach absolutely discounts, and they often sell items at outlet for more than 50% of retail. Couch boutiques do not discount, but they do offer coupons by mail. Department store vendors also discount, as do outlets.

It's really not fair to state something as a fact when you do not know it to be correct; it is confusing and misleading to people looking to learn, and in this case is casts suspicion on honest eBay sellers who buy legitimately discounted Coach.

EDITED: Derp derp, and this thread is indeed two years old. Sorry!

Coach items show up on ebay sometimes even before they reach the stores and the prices are often below what you would pay with PCE so I don't know where these sellers are getting them.

There are great prices at the Coach outlets, but even when I have bought things there, I will almost always find it on ebay cheaper eventually. I actually think that some of these sellers don't know how to do the math and don't know they aren't making a profit.

The only thing I was able to consistently make a profit on were the scarves. I could buy them for $13 and sell for $25. After fees, I made about $5, which isn't really worth it considering all the work involved.

I know some people have deals with the department stores to buy their damaged stuff to resell. There are also bulk auction sites where you can buy a lot of 15 - 25 bags, but I have never seen good deals there either.

The only great profits I have made is buying used on ebay and reselling it. This doesn't happen often enough that I can make any significant money.
