Default How can the seller afford to do this?

on *bay, There is a seller who has sold numerous *brand new* Fendi wallet/clutch on a chain's...in the same color

She says she buys them all at Saks...I can't imagine how this could be profitable?

how could a seller continue to do this? can anyone shed some light on this?

yes, I've had it authenticated at the Fendi Forum

I was suspicious so I felt better after having it authenticated. I also asked her, "do you buy these secondhand or from eBay? how can you sell them for such a low price?"

and she replied, "No! I buy only from Saks."

If she buys them all from Saks she must be selling them at above retail or there'd be no point in selling them Unless she got them in a sale and bought several of them.
Does the seller send the Saks receipt with them?

no, she doesn't.

i was afraid i was becoming too intrusive so those are the only questions I asked.

this particular style just came out this season, s/s 08. to my knowledge, they have not gone on sale yet.

^^Are employee's allowed to buy new season items? especially more than afew.
I know LV do not allow any staff to, maybe Fendi (or Saks) is different?
I'd ask to see a pic of the receipt and check out the date it was and for how many lvluv.

the tricky thiing is, she doesn't list them all at once.
e.g there will be one listed and sold...then, a month later, the same item is up for sale again.

and I know it could not be that the purchase didn't work out and she's relisting, because I'm the one who bought one of them!

I have never seen the receipt.

If it is okay to disclose her eBay ID, it is jananco33

She seems to have sold quite afew authentic items judging by her feedback.
Was it quite recently when you purchased the wallet? Could you perhaps email her and ask her to email a copy of the receipt to you just for your insurance purposes (I always keep all my receipts so that if ever *god forbid* something was stolen I can send the receipt to my insurers)

The seller looks legit to me. She sells loads of designer stuff and at great prices. It must be a case of buying them at a discount and selling them on. Good for her i think, so long as you got what you are happy with then all is good :) I might keep a watch on here to see if anything good comes up in the future! x

If you are seriously considering buying don't feel bad for wanting to ask these kinds of questions. It's good you had it authenticated on here, but if you still want to ask for a picture of the receipt I think you should. I wonder if she returned fakes to Saks and decided to sell the real ones on eBay. Although, you want to believe Saks would notice if they got many fakes back of the same bag.

When you had the wallet authenticated, was it your photos of your wallet or were they the auction photos?
If she's selling over and over then she probably uses the same photos each time so what you get might not be what's pictured.

I worked for Saks for 2 years, and yes, employees can buy whatever they want. There is no limit to what they can purchase. However, this was back in the late 90s before the advent of internet and eBay.

I used to buy tons and tons of Louis Vuitton (I was a Louis Vuitton Specialist at the time) and never had any problems.

She also could be buying them at the outlet, Saks Off 5th, and if she's an employee, you get a discount on top of the outlet price. So she could really be getting them for cheap. Otherwise, I can't imagine how she would be making a profit, unless the bags that are pictured in her auctions are real, but the ones she's sending out are fake?? Hmmm...
