Question How about swapping?

I too am having the problem with eBay not letting me list one of my handbags for thirty days. It is very frustrating especially because it's the only way I can buy the bag of my dreams. I just purchased a brand new Marc Jacobs stam in indigo worth $1550.

My question is this; has anyone thought of actually swapping items with other sellers? I thought of emailing the seller who has the bag that I want and see if she wanted to swap for my new Stam.

What do you guys think?

I've had people ask me to swap for their item. I've never taken them up on the offer but it does happen.

I've actually done it twice, but probably wouldn't do it again - you can never really know who you can trust, and waiting for your item is a very stressful time. Unless you both create listings for your items, then I guess that would work.

Ive done alot of swaps through various sites and think its agreat idea. You should email the woman with the bag-she might say yes,its not like your offering her a $20 bag.

Ive had a couple people offer to swap a bag of theres for mine on eBay. If the right bag came along with someone who had great feedback. I might be willing to do it. It hasnt happened yet though.

I would do a swap IF the seller were reputable and had a good amount of feedback. I would also feel a bit more comfortable if she (or I guess he) was a member of TPF. Also, this is pretty obvious, but make sure her bag is authentic. That would really blow to trade an authentic Stam for a fake bag.

I definitely wouldn't do a swap with someone with little to no feedback.

You'd be surprised how flexible some eBay sellers are. I recently asked an eBay seller who listed up something for $200 (+ $25 shipping) starting bid, if she would close the auction and sell it to me for $175 shipped. She said yes! It never hurts to ask, especially since a seller can save $$$ on eBay seller fees (although I guess I think technically that might be against eBay rules? I am not sure).
