I would think she is showing the bag next to the bag of chips so you can determine the scale of the bag. I can't imagine any other reason, it's not like it's aesthetically pleasing. LOL

I think she is showing the size of the bag with the chips. I think its a good idea to show an everyday item to describe bag size. They always look so much bigger in pics and they arrive and you can be disappointed
