This seller has been discussed on the Hermes forum extensively, especially for SNAD.
Sorry, Nancy, you are going through this...I would have had a heart attack!
Good luck!!!

"1. The bag quality- your photo received and I acknowledge the slits on the outer surface of bag leather. Kindly recheck the photos I posted on web by me. There are slits and dullness can be easily identified not only on the out surface of the bag and also the inner surface of the bag apart from the two bottom pictures. The photos posted on my web are providing the reality of the bag quality for a bag with age over two decades..."
This is how she now is describing the bag, and I don't see this in her listing (and I cannot see it in her pics but as everyone is always saying, things look different on various computer monitors). Also, she lists this bag as Excellent condition, which I don't feel matches her grading system. "Excellent - no severely noticeable defects"

Also, if a handbag has "slits", no matter what the price, it should be plainly stated. Also, any dullness because once again, things, especially shiny things, can and do look different on monitors. Good Luck!!

I would let this seller know I'll be returning for a full refund. There's no way she'd put all these 'fees' on me! OP have you called paypal and explained this to them? They may be able to walk you through opening a dispute and help you out. Good luck!

Why on earth would you purchase a $20,000 handbag on eBay? Or over the Internet? Seriously?

There are still some good sellers on eBay but sadly, more dishonest seller are surfacing.
Describing badly used/torn bag as 9/10 or excellent condition.
OP, fight for your money back and i wish you all the best

I think I'd stop trying to be so accommodating to this seller. She mis-described the condition of the item so any losses she just has to 'suck up' as part of her business model. And her paypal fees would be refunded if she refunded you so trying to hold you responsible for that is just ridiculous.

I think I would telephone PP and explain the situation to them regarding the two payments and two packages and see what they say. I think the issue is, if they follow the letter of their user agreement, that it would be hard to claim SNAD on the strap parcel. So it may be that a CC chargeback is your best option, depending on what PP say. I'd get those calls in to make sure you know where you stand; at least then you have some genuine ammunition if you need it.

Hi everyone,
And thank you for your kind replies. I really haven´t slept in days and the seller still refuses to make a full refund. After I presented a "business" proposal to her, she was willing to make a partail refund of 18500 USD. This is after one week of non-stop fighting over emails. I will loose 500, plus import duties (which I'll try and get back) plus I´ll have to pay expensive shipping fees to send the bag back to her. Since this is a very expensive bag, I´ll try and choose the most secure courier, as fedex or dhl and only with signature confirmation. I´ll videotape the whole process from the down packing of the bag - to couriers submission. This is because I need to protect myself, in case she claims an empty package upon receipt.
The cost for shipping is an additional 480 USD. This means I´ve lost over a 1000 USD on this s*** deal. I am so angry and upset, I don´t know what more to do.
I spoke to my cc, adn they say they´d help me with the refund. There´s a problem though. If her terms says she´ll only refund 90% when returning an item, then that´s also what the cc will do. Even though the item does not at all match the description. So my cc (Amex) recommended me to go directly through paypal. The only thing is that if Paypal does find it in her favour, then she might not return anything at all. So this seller really knows what she´s doing. I truly do not recommend any of you to buy from this seller as she´s not at all easy to work with once she receives your payment. Nor does she describe her items accurately...

I have gotten back import duties (I´m also in Sweden). It was not as much as yours must have been but still 900 Sek.

Good luck!

Her terms /don't/ say she'll only refund 90% though, do they? Whatever she had in her auction is meaningless - you didn't buy from her auction. So it would have to be based on whatever the agreement was between you in working it out via email. Does she say anything in her emails about her return policy? I'd present that to Amex!

I would contact Amex again... you have a charge for $19,000 that you will

dispute...you will return the bag &pay for shipping & that is all..

But you expect a credit for the full amount.... nothing less than that!!

You may have to be very diligent with AMEX...you purchased this bag not

through any auction so her terms don't stand..and speak with a supervisor

get the name as well & phone number...

Perhaps here in the states disputes with cc especially Amex are handled differently..

but my experience once you dispute the charge they do an investigation... OP

you have pics of the bags with tears, scratches, etc... this description was

totally misrepresented..Can you fax over pics to a representative at Amex??

Have you spoken with anyone at PP??? What are they telling you??

Usually pp finds in favor of the buyer with SNAD's..

Having the bag videotaped is a good idea... this seller is capable of anything!!

I wish you well in this horrific experience and sorry that you have to be subjected

to all of this...

Keep us posted..

I never usually buy anything from Ebay, even though I know there are reliable sellers out there. But this time I had a special request from a client who had seen the bag on ebay and asked me to get it for him. We both were shocked upon receipt, as the bag did not at all match the description.
Next time I´m buying a Hermès bag, I´ll be sure to pick it up my self..

Good luck... there are times when you may not get satisfaction from

the first person that you speak with... so keep trying til you get someone

who will listen... and keep mentioning the $19,000.....

Let us know how you do...& again, good luck

OP when you say 'her terms' state she'll only refund 90% do you mean her ebay auction? Because if so that doesn't mean a thing. You didn't go through ebay, & even if you did the seller has to go by ebay's rules, as ebay's policies over rule anything a seller says. Did you call paypal and explain everything to them? I think I would still open a dispute through paypal and try to get all of my $ back, not what the seller says you should get. Good luck!
