Ok, so I am selling my DBF's old G-Unit coat. I CLEARLY STATE in my auction:

Payment to CONFIRMED addresses only
I will only ship to US or CANADA

So, lo and behold, a man from Brazil wins my coat. He has an unconfirmed address AND asks for it to be marked as a gift and send as a package not in a box.

WELLLL, first of all, the coat will HAVE to be in a box because it will not fit in a package and I told him NO, I will not mark as a gift, that is ILLEGAL.

Well, I just sent him the message back and I also told him that I will be refunding his money and he will need to pay me within 7 days with a confirmed address or the transaction will be cancelled.

Am I doing the right thing? Advice please! TIA!

^ Absolutely you are doing the right thing. Sounds like a complete scammer. You stated only US and Canada, I would stick to that. If he isn't confirmed you have no protection.

I mean, I will almost ship anywhere if they ask and they have a confirmed address, but geesh. What places have confirmed addresses?

See if maybe you can file for a mutual withdrawal...? And you can do a second chance offer for the coat if you had other bids

I would wait a bit and see if he agrees to your terms. I hate when buyers are nervy and think that they can call all the shots...very frustrating!

If you feel this is a scammer, just email this person and tell him he didn't follow your tos. Forget about the neg, it's more important that you don't get scammed. I'd also try live chat and see what they suggest. This just sounds like a bad situation all the way around.

Brazil can't be confirmed, so he won't be able to do that. He didn't follow the terms of your auction so I would refund and tell him that.

I don't know if he was registered in Brazil or just wanted you to ship there, but you can set your buyer requirements to not accept bidders who are registered in countries to which you don't ship.

The first msg he sent was asking me to unlock so he could bid, and it let him and I was not even on eBay or at home! I dont know how he bid.

^ No^ you have it in your terms. He didn't follow them. He isn't confirmed which is your safety net. I think even "if" he negs you, you can have it removed. I just wouldn't trust this buyer. I don't want to see you scammed. Sorry this happened to you V, this is so wrong on his part.
