Default Have You Ever Reported a Fake Bag To eBay?

I have just reported a (most likely) fraudulent seller to eBay. For the past few days I was seriously considering a Balenciaga Lune bag. So this afternoon I had the bag authenticated by the ladies here. Since it appeared to be a fake, I reported the seller, as somebody had started to bid on it. But I wonder how quick eBay will be to act. The last time I reported a fake item was last year. It was a fake Fendi Spy. But I had no joy getting a refund and the seller disappeared.....

I report fake bags/auctions daily. Sadly though most of them don't get pulled.

I report Balenciaga fakes almost daily, and, believe me, it's really frustating since eBay rarely deletes the auctions. I suggest you to contact the buyer as soon as the auction is over (before it is hardly possible since the sellers of fakes does not usually show the bidder)and let her know. It just happened in the Balenciaga forum with a lady that purchased a fake City form an Italian seller, and she was so gratefull that someone let her know before paying for it...

I have reported far too many bags to count, unfortunately.

Be careful, this can get you into trouble. Some buyers know the bags they are buying are fake and they don't care.

Also they can report you to eBay for contacting them and you can get into trouble.

I'll follow your advice, do what I can and let you know.

I'll have to tread carefully here, but this thing is annoying me. If I hadn't ran that bag past the ladies here, I might have lost hundreds of pounds. I'M not familiar with Lune Bags either. I had just seen a few pics and thought the bag looked good.

Lorihmatthews, that's correct about the 'indifferent' buyers. Just over a year ago I mailed a woman eBay buyer. She had purchased a Balenciaga City from a seller I had good reason to believe was selling fakes (when I looked at the seller's feedback, a previous buyer's response had been, 'Utterly fake! I know Balenciaga well and have reported you both to eBay and Balenciaga.' )

I nearly bought one of those bags myself. When I mailed the buyer I mentioned about my concerns, she said she couldn't care less and that the bag was great. It's none of my business whether people buy or carry fakes. I don't have a moral view about it. But I thought this woman would be concerned about her expensive fake bag. To my knowledge that seller slipped through the net. I saw her selling other goods shortly after that, although the items were not bags.

I've reported three just in the past week but only one of them actually got pulled. It kills me that honest sellers are unable to sell authentic merchandise yet dishonest sellers selling fakes continue to keep their listings active.

I have reported a few when I am certain they are fakes. Sometimes I think it might be fake but I'm not sure. The ones I have reported were pulled shortly after.

This is why I'll never ever buy anything on eBay, no matter what it is. It used to be really fun about 10 years ago, but now it is just full of scammers and dishonest people, which really hurts the honest ones.

I report every fake I see... if I see a fake and don't report it and someone buys it, I am partially responsible as is every other user who saw it, recognized it as fake, and didn't report it.

Yes! I do it all the time and most of them do get pulled.
They put me in some program where my reports get priority or something.
But then again, I did report quite a few awhile back...they were really obvious fakes and still didn't get taken down.

Yes, I report fake Chanel bags all the time. That's the only brand that I'm knowledgeable enough to differentiate between fake/authentic bags.

Their system before for reporting fake bags was kind of irritating. You had to click all of these different links that lead to more links. It was very tedious. They have improved it a LOT after getting sued by Louis Vuitton, and now the process of reporting fake goods is much easier.

I am hoping that because they lost the lawsuit with LV for something like 54 million, that they'll take the reported auctions more seriously instead of just brushing them off.
