i recently joined this forum because while i love purses, I seem to be a bit nieve about spotting the fake ones. the other day I purchased a longchamp les pliages from eBay and i'm having doubts that its authentic. here it is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...EOIBSA:US:1123

i would really appreciate any help!
thanks!

doesn't look good but can't be 100% sure based on only the auction page. Tag should have either LONGCHAMP and the logo (if it's the front) or a barcode (if it's the back). Leather looks a bit off, and fabric maybe too shiny, but you'd have to see more photos to be sure. Plastic wrap on handles is a bad sign, but not necessarily a red flag.

Things to ask for: more photos, especially of leather flap. What the heat stamp on back says? (In addition to other things, should say "TYPE S" not just "TYPE"). And what color is the lining? If tan or white, good. If same color as outside, BAD!

Did you pay already? If not, maybe ask for more info/photos before paying. Even though seller may say your bid is a binding contract, it is ILLEGAL for seller to auction a counterfeit!!

thanks for the response! unfortunately i did pay, and i asked the seller again. she guaranteed it was authentic, telling me it was a gift from her father, who would NEVER buy anything but the authentic. it didn't do much to reassure me though.

When you get the bag, look it over. If it's not real, you should argue for your money AND shipping back. You can post photos on this forum (best to start a new thread in the "authenticate this..." forum, not the eBay one).
