I received a standard email response from eBay yesterday, just after I reported the fake bag. But having thanked me profusely and promised to take action, the auction still has not been pulled and has a day to go.

It wasn't me that contacted that buyer, just because I don't want to be pushy and I agree with you, many people know is a fake, but that lady was so grateful!!!

yes this is totally true! Honestly, I say dont waste your time flagging sellers of whom you think are selling fakes (firstly because you may be wrong) and because a lot of people know what they're buying (a fake) and will report you to both the seller (you DONT want an angry seller on your ass) and eBay for butting in where you shouldn't. Also, I really dont feel that sorry for clueless buyers bidding on fakes, they should take the time to educate themselves on sites like these like we all do.

Their system before for reporting fake bags was kind of irritating. You had to click all of these different links that lead to more links. It was very tedious. They have improved it a LOT after getting sued by Louis Vuitton, and now the process of reporting fake goods is much easier.

I am hoping that because they lost the lawsuit with LV for something like 54 million, that they'll take the reported auctions more seriously instead of just brushing them off.
Me too! But they still appear with regularity. While sellers of authentic items aren't allowed to list. Ridiculous.

I used to report fakes daily, before eBay put restrictions on my account. I'm not going to do their job for them anymore. I can't even sell my authentic stuff while there are so many fakes out there.

I feel for the buyers, but I also warned a buyer a few years ago about a fake IF bag. She thanked me and said that if she got it at a good price she really didn't mind it was a fake. That didn't stop me from reporting fakes but eBay not letting me sell my authentic bags with my 7 years as a member and 100% feedback did.

Nooch, I agree with you (in a good Samaritan kinda way) but it's not my obligation morally, since the buyer did not take the time to educate him or her self.

I used to do it all of the time but see that the listing is still going with an ususpecting winning bidder. They are usually new sellers with 0 feedback and eBay doesn't do anything unless many people report the the listing.

all the time! i know how to spot fake Kate Spade and Longchamp, but I think few other people know Longchamp, so the gross fake Pliages never get pulled.

I check every second day or so and report..sometimes they are pulled, sometimes not.

One bag I reported recently wasn't pulled and was sold, the buyer put it back up for sale within a week of getting the bag - they obviously knew it was fake - so I reported it again saying it was fake the first time it was listed and sold and was still a fake (albeit being sold by a different seller). Funnily enough eBay pulled it very quickly the second time.

Daily................love to report fakes.........I hate seeing people bidding their hard earned money on something that isn't real.
