Default Have you ever purchsed a fake/knockoff from ebay? We need you!!

Several of us eBay protestors have come across something that looks very disturbing. Is ebay part of a counterfeit ring? From the looks of it, they very well could be. We need anyone who has bought a fake item or sold one, only to be told it was fake.

We really need to find that one connection, to prove this is actually going on.

If you have been involved, from either side (Buyer or Seller), please drop a message here with a rough estimate of the date of the transaction and the type of item you bought or sold. If you happen to know where the item was to be shipped once it was deemed fake, please leave that info, as well.

I will be keeping an eye on this thread and hope that we can find that connection.

If you would like a little more info on the subject, you can go here:

Oh, that's gonna be tough! So many fake sellers will just take back the bag when there's a complaint (only to go on and resell it) so I think a lot of it is all under the radar!

I'll keep watching and good luck!

Well, eBay just got sued from Louis Vuitton and had to pay them several million dollars BECAUSE of all the fakes that are being sold on eBay. I'm hoping because of this recent lawsuit, that they will pick up the monitoring now.

Good luck.

I have bought a couple of fake items, but, thankfully the sellers were cooperative and refunded my money. Both sellers professed that they did not know they were fake, and, I monitored their auctions for a while to see if they re-listed them, and thankfully they didn't.

I think what you (Hippiechick1969) is doing is WONDERFUL!

Do you happen to still have the sellers name?

Any chance you would happen to have those sellers names. There's a chance that they bought them from liquidation.com, who is the one getting the fake returns and reselling them as real. This is just getting too much.

Prior to finding tPF, I bought two fake bags on eBay. I filed a chargeback on the first and the seller was NARU'd. She then proceeded to open up three successive new eBay accounts, selling the same fakes. The auctions were very distinctive and I reported her each time. All of these eventually were taken off the site. The second was accompanied by a Neiman-Marcus receipt and I cannot say whether the seller was actually as shocked as she professed to be. She refunded me within minutes of my email to her, and I sent the bag to her the next day. She also paid for my returning the bag to her. She was going to N-M to complain. I suppose my experiences turned out well, but it is still a shock and a huge disappointment to receive a fake. I definitely research my sellers much more carefully now.

I unknowingly purchased a counterfeit wallet. The seller refused a refund when I determined it was fake so I had to file a claim -ya-da-ya-da-ya-da. . . Finally got my money back and Paypal instructed me to send the item to an address some where in Texas, which I did. I'll see if I can still find that address.

The problem with them 'monitoring' is that they don't know real from fake so often they will pull real bags. If you do a search here you'll see that's it's happened to lots of TPFers

Absolutely! There are still entire groups of fake Chanels being put up. eBay has no idea what they are doing as far as authentication goes. If we can authenticate on tPF, why can't they hire knowledgable authenticators to do the same for them? God knows they can afford it.

WOW, need to get these sellers' names, if you have them and auction numbers, if they are within the past 3 months.

We're onto something here!
