Default Has anyone purchased from a 0 feedback member?

I'm just wondering since I know ebayers have to start off somewhere to get feedback. So has anyone purchased anything with someone that is new and has zero feedback if so, how did it go with you? Did you have a pleasant experience? Or would you never purchase from a zero feedback member?

I haven't, and I never would - to me, it's not worth taking the chance. I started buying on eBay before I sold anything. I had about 20 feedback before I started selling.

Never have - never would!

My money isn't something I just hand over willingly to "0" FBers... then again, a 1000+ FB member can pull the same scams, I just feel safer not buying from a 0 FB member.

I haven't purchased anything over $100 from one. If they are verified and have PayPal protection I might. I would never consider it on an expensive item unless I had some inside knowledge. Perhaps if they told me they had another account but eBay wasn't letting them list from it. They'd have to prove that somehow. I think you should definitely be very careful.

I also started buying before I started selling, so I did have some feedback. Plus, I started out selling less expensive items to get feedback as well.

This is exactly what I did as well.

That being said, yes, everyone has to start out somewhere, but when the seller is starting out like that, I would personally be wary of dealing with him/her.

Ask if they have feedback elsewhere. I don't have feedback on eBay yet, but should I ever want to purchase an item on it, I do have feedback elsewhere.

There is something on my watch list from a 0 FB seller, but I'm probably not going to buy it. I am pretty sure this person registered just to sell this item.

I have. A long time ago when I was fairly new at buying on £BÅ¥

It was for 2 super hard to find Tokidoki purses, and I was all excited over the price I won them for until someone posted negative on her purchase. I contacted her and she told me the seller never sent her tokidoki. Then the owner of the pictures in the auction messaged and told me the seller stole her pictures. I filed a claim and escalated immediately. Got all my money back.

I wouldn't. Theres things sellers can do to get at least some feedback B4 they start selling....you can even buy feedback on eBay for 99 cents lol! If someone wont even bother doing that to show me they're a real seller and invested in keeping their account open etc...then I wouldn't waste my time. I had to spend money to buy stuff to build up my account so I expect the same in return!

I'm not even sure. I know my first feedback was by someone who brought something from me

Once when I first joined eBay. I asked a few questions first and the seller responded really quickly. The item wasn't expensive (about £20) so took a chance. It was sent really quickly with a hand written note thanking me for buying the item and was beautifully packaged. I don't think I'd buy anything over about £20 and I'd ask questions again but yes, I would buy from a zero feedback seller - after all, we all had to start somewhere...buyer with zero feedback / seller with zero feedback..we all take the chance that first time!

It is a gamble...if its a high price item then I would say you should pass...if its of lower value then maybe...but I am skeptical of new ebayers...

The seller that i'm dealing with right now has a little under 90 feebacks all positive and some for high end desinger bags...well the item I received was fake!

Just be careful.

Honestly? If I do (or ever have), it would have to be a very low price point item—maybe under $25? I hate to say it, because we all started out somewhere, but I wouldn't chance it until I had seen some feedback activity on their account.

I recently took a chance and purchased a brand new Gucci hobo from a brand new seller with 0 feedback. I followed my gut instinct that it was legite and of course I had it authenticated here first and took that chance. To my surprise, I received a gorgeous brand new authentic purse. It was 350.00.

I was at first very hesitant and bidded on the last minute only. Normally, I don't think I would take that chance.
