Default Has anyone ever bought or sold COACH through Overstock Auctions?

If so, what was your experience with it? or I'm getting tired of the whole *bay hoopla and am looking for a good alternative, especially for COACH items.

It has been many years since I bought or sold items on there. My COACH items I bought were authentic (although some fakes were listed), other items though you could tell they were fakes.

Thanks everyone

I am getting tired of eBay too. They are putting limitations on how many
Coach Items you can sell in a 30 day period. I am not a powerseller nor
do I buy at the Outlet to resell. I sell bags in my own collection that I am tired of - they are all authentic leather bags. I do not buy fakes nor do I sell them. I would appreciate any feedback if someone here has used OVERSTOCK auctions.

This should probably be in the eBay thread.

I have never heard of that auction site before. I am disliking eBay's new policies, however I have good feedback on there, so I don't really want to leave.

With eBay recently getting fined millions for allowing counterfeit items to be sold, I reckon this is why they are allowing people to sell less designer stuff so they can moderate it more to lessen the amount of counterfeits being sold on there. So I think it has it's benefits, but not to those honest sellers with real items!

I think Overstock is plagued with fakes too. I was just browsing through the listings and they didn't look too promising. On a positive note, eBay won the Tiffany lawsuit for the time being. The judge ruled that its the designer house's responsibility to police their products and not eBay's. It will be appealed I am sure.

Be very careful with Overstock auctions. I made a purchase from there a few years back and was extremely unhappy with the fake I received and the lack of recourse options from Overstock. I am not sure if something has changed since then (this was summer 2005) but if it hasn’t, it is no better there than at eBay.

What designer was it you bought? Whenever I bought COACH items they were authentic, although I know there ARE fakes listed.

I had someone last week in the Fendi forum authenticate a bag I was looking to purchase and they gave me the . I think (hope) that maybe Overstock is starting to get better, at least with some sellers offering authentics. It helps to have this forum though to help authenticate.

My purchase was for a Burberry scarf. I was sent a horrible looking fake, nothing like the pictures of the scarf that I bid on. It was not even the same colour! You live and you learn. Please, just be cautious, hopefully things have gotten better.

I used overstock auctions two years ago and was also sent a fake Coach bag. Overstock does not stand behind the consumer at all on this, even though the bag pictured was not the bag I got. I think eBay has many more consumer controls. Shortly after I (and several other folks) left negative feedback, the seller merely discontinued her membership and probably started under a new name....

I've never bought anything on Overstock.com, but I did try to sell a bag on there once. Overstock does not get much traffic on their auctions and needless to say I wound up selling it on eBay anyway. I was just kind of testing the waters with Overstock and wasn't too impressed.
