Default ebay seller couturebylesa is a thief!

Just wanted to warn everyone about this eBay seller.

Last year I bought a Chanel handbag from seller couturebylesa. (1823) Her name is xxxxxxx. She has a consignment store in Camel CA where most of her eBay items are. She was a reputable eBay seller of designer items and I was very pleased. She was very nice and sent friendly emails and it was a good transaction. This year I wanted to sell the Chanel and get something new, so I asked her if she would take it on consignment. She said yes, I mailed it to her and she sold it in 2 days on eBay on May 12. I am still waiting for my share of the money! I have emailed her at least 20 times. She actually answers my emails, saying she is sorry, in the middle of divorce, kids and headaches. Has asked for my PayPal account name 3 times, has apologized several times, but no money. She has literally stolen my money!! She seems to have a good eBay business, keeps adding new things, selling and getting positive feedback, so it is not like she is out of business....but she is a thief with consignments. I really have no recourse to get my money....feel like a complete idiot! Beware if you do any transactions with her on eBay.

OMG! I'm so sorry this is happening to you. Do you have any documentation stating you sent her the items? Or emails showing an agreement that she would consign for you? This sounds awful!
Can't the authorities do anything? How can people do this?
Have you threatened her w/ a lawsuit yet?

Wow. That is pretty scary. I have never dealt with an online consignment store before, but I just assumed there would be some sort of contract of receipt of item??? I really, really hope that you're able to get your money back, especially since it sold so quickly.

I bet she took the money and spent it. I hope she's at least being honest with you with how much it sold for. But then again, I guess it's easy enough to check the other auctions.

Anyway, sorry I couldn't offer any advice, but good luck and I hope this works out.

Divorce my a**!

That's terrible! You should have had your money in June at the latest! I'm not sure how you should proceed in filing a complaint against her. eBay probably can't do anything. Do you still have the consignment agreement that you signed with her? You will probably have to file a complaint with CA, since that is where her business is located. I'd start searching online for how to file a complaint in small claims court. You may have to go there though, which may not be worth it, but you should definitely check out your options. I'm so sorry this happened to you!

I don't think she is affiliated with the physical store any longer - it looks like the store was bought out and moved to a new location, and she is on her own. Have you tried sending her a Paypal invoice for the amount she owes you?

It looks like she has another eBay ID consigncouture, which is also the name of her business. If you click on her ME on her couturebylesa ID, she now says she is only selling from her personal collection. But if you look on her ME page it has pictures of her business, which is Consign Couture. If you Google her business there is a webpage www.ritzyragz.com/consigncouture.php, and at the bottom is a link to her eBay store for consigncouture. I'm pretty sure they are the same person. You may want to start checking her out with the state of CA. Hope this helps!

Looks like she still owns it and the business is active. Here's what I found:

http://kepler.sos.ca.gov/corpdata/Sh...r=200613310394

She also has one complaint against her with the BBB, and it is unresolved. The complaint was filed under her business name Consign Couture.

^ Oh you're good. I'm trying to remember how long it's been since I was last in that store. The website has changed - it used to have a picture of her on the front page, and didn't have the Ritzy Rags affiliation. And the store in the photos is much, much larger than it used to be.

Thanks! I don't know how I got into it, but I seem to be good at finding info on people. It's kind of a weird hobby I guess... lol

I am so sorry this has happened to you! I once sent a very nice (worn once) Dolce and Gabbana suit (pants/jacket) to a very well known evilbay seller on consignment. I was stupid enough not to send it registered as it is soooooo expencive from Sweden....well, she claimed she never got it.....I am not saying she did as there is absolutely no proof of her getting it.....but it still su***, obviously I never did anything..I just let it drop. I hope you will get your money soon!

Thanks for all the help you California gals are giving me! I did call the Dolores St. store and spoke to a lady named Candace. She told me that Lesa is working from home now. I called the phone number associated with the address where I mailed the bag, but a man answers and says I have the wrong number. I did send a PayPal money request like one of you genius gals suggested (don't know why I didn't think of that). It has me confused about if she is working at Consign Couture or one of the Ritzy Rags stores. I will called them and see if the new owners and kick her behind for me. I guess I can also pile on the BBB and send a complaint too. I am not going to give up yet!
Thanks you guys!!

You're welcome! I'm actually in Colorado, but all I did was do a search on the state of CA's secretary of state website for her business. I would definitely file the BBB complaint, but it looks like the one she already has against her is unresolved. The only other thing I would suggest is maybe contacting the police in her area and file a report with them. Maybe that will light a fire under her a$$. Good luck and keep us posted as to what happens.

Sometimes people may have larger problems than you.

Although this can inconvenience you, maybe you can help make it easier for her and send her an paypal invoice.

It appears from Kitty Lynne has observed that the seller is still running her business ok, despite any personal problems she is currently experiencing. In the (considerable) amount of time that has now elapsed since the consignment was sold, the seller should have made provision to give Kitty her money, or at least given a proper explanation of when this would be possible. Yes, elitebag, she (Kitty) has now sent, i believe, a paypal money request, but the point is she shouldn't have had to do this .
