I am honestly over it! I'll just take my strike and fight it and be done! Not much more can be done at this point! I made honest attempts and when your in this situation that's all you can do! Lesson learned!

I wasn't even aware someone could bid and then take away their bids, I've bought a ton of things off eBay and have never had this happen to me! I just still find it odd that someone bids $550 over my $510 and then bids again for $700 and then retracts both bids! Maybe they found something else too who knows but I let it go after I hit my max spending limit on this certain item, anyone willing to spend $700 on those shoes well I'll just say more power to them. There should be an option if a bidder does retract their bids just IMO. I bid on more than one thing if I am over the other item because I know I was out bid on it, again not being fully aware that someone could retract their bids if they just feel like it! It might have been different if the seller would have contacted me, not contacting me to me makes it seem like they knew what was going on, never have I encountered a seller wanting to sell something but not respond at all? Of course that could just be me!! I don't know! I just have an odd felling, nothing can be done I'll just have to wait for my strike and go from there. I'll def say this is a lesson learned and I'm certainly going to start paying more attention to those bidding against me.
Sorry, I meant if EBay had cancelled the other bidder's bids; an administrative cancel, would you have felt the same. Regardless, that is a moot point, since the bidder themselves retracted. I have seen bidders that have hundreds of bid retractions, so it seems to be widely accepted. And, these are experienced EBayers with many feedbacks. So, I guess I am saying it may not only be a 0 FB buyer that could put you back in front.
Rule of thumb is that EBay considers your bid as binding until the listing ends. Right or wrong. Sniping is the way to go. jmho

Ebay doesn't enforce the rule about retracting your bid. If you entered the wrong amount, then you should make another bid with the correct bid. But no one does this. It is a loophole that ebay lets bidders get away with. IMO, you shouldn't be forced to pay since the retraction wasn't honestly done.

You can retract a bid for the following reasons:

You accidentally entered the wrong bid amount due to a typographical error. For example, you bid $99.50 instead of $9.95. If this happens, you need to reenter the correct bid amount right away. Changing your mind does not qualify as accidentally entering a wrong bid amount.

The item's description changed significantly after you entered your last bid. For example, the seller updated details about the item's features or condition.

You can't reach the seller by telephone or email.

Well I contacted the seller first as soon as i got the email. Then I did try to retract it myself and it wouldn't let me, which is why I tried to contact the seller over and over.

That is true though! I don't see how they retracted twice and such different amounts too on different dates but who knows! They still haven't contacted me but I have proof I emailed her quite a few times. Hopefully that'll work in my favor. I wish eBay would have better rules on that now that I've learned about it.

Seller is not communicating because she doesn't want to risk having anything on record of her having said it seems.... :(
