Lighten the mood? hmmmm, I think Adoptastray would have laughed at this knowing her sense of humor...

It is so great to see everyone in the chat thread! Let's hope more people join in the fun and it stays positive and amusing!

Haven't been a member that long, but certainly have seen Adoptastray's contributions to threads. So very sorry for all who knew her and miss her.

So the other day, I met my first client who is really, truly INSANE. I don't think she has a computer, but she certainly made me think of some of the people we deal with on ebay and wonder ..... y'know?

Pegasuscom, that's a hilarious picture!

Okay Ellie Mae :-)

Arrive at her door, ring the bell, wait, wait, wait, wait. I hear dragging from inside. Finally the door opens. "Hi I'm xxxx, here to go over yyyyy with you" I say and she stares at me as though I'm speaking another language. Then I could see her brain click into gear and she lets me in. She had to drag some boxes out of the way to let me in. TV is BLARING so loud the walls are reverberating.

The house is FULL of stuff. Full. There's a pathway thru the house to the various rooms, which are also FULL of stuff. To the ceiling in every room. We stand at the kitchen counter to discuss what I'm there about. Every 2 or 3 minutes she heads to the TV remote, says "I gotta turn this down", fiddles with the remote (nothing happens to the volume) and says "Oh that's better". Every 2 or 3 minutes. For my entire visit.

There's a TV program on, and she likes one of the actors. So every 5 minutes or so she says "Oh look, there's ????, I need to get his picture" and grabs her digital camera, gets a message that the batteries aren't working, and says "oh I need new batteries". EVERY 5 MINUTES! For my entire visit.

As I speak with her, I can literally see her brain working and not working. I am asking her questions, and can tell from her replies that she is NOT answering me, but the voices in her head (or something). Totally inappropriate responses to every question I ask. And she's still futzing with the TV remote AND the digital camera. What should have taken me 30 minutes ended up taking 1.5 hours, and I'm not convinced I got accurate info.

As I was leaving she told me she knew I was Italian. Uh, okay.

Really, the whole experience made me think of some of the problems people experience on ebay. This lady doesn't have access to a computer, but there are, I fear, millions like her who do! Thank goodness she is married, so her husband can keep an eye on her, make sure she's fed, clothed and such.

WOW... ok, some definite mental issues, sounds like. Phew, bless her heart. AND her DH's!! And sounds like maybe she's a HOARDER? I have known a few people like this... and I cannot decide if the chaos in their life promotes the chaos in their minds... or vice versa. But, normally, you get one, you also get the other!

In this case, I think the external chaos is a result (not cause) of the mental chaos.

I've only met one other hoarder that I'm aware of. And she is the sharpest, smartest, most intelligent businesswomen you could imagine. So she may be the execption to the rule. A very dear male friend dated someone for quite a well (another male), and just couldn't get quite "comfortable" in the relationship. My friend was at the other fellow's house one day, and opened a door and found all sorts of boxes and GARBAGE and stuff. So he went and investigated other areas of the house, and yup -- all but the master bedroom, kitchen and living room were jammed with stuff (and garbage).

Honestly, I don't feel too bad for the woman I just met -- she seemed happy. And she's safe, not institutionalized, has her family around. So she's doing better than many people who don't have mental health issues.

Okay, enough of that.... let's party on in the hat head :)

You don't have to be on facebook to view it, but you have to be on to comment or post. If any of you guys want to make a note (and aren't on facebook) on the site I'd be happy to add it for you!

Hi Gals, yes, we lost a great PF when Liz passed away.
She was a super lady.
Maude: you look absolutely fab, my dear, in that coat!
Ellie: do you still have that boobie in your avatar? what year was it made? I love it!

Hi to all the other gals that are on here and kudos to Ellie to start it!

Has anyone purchased any new bags that they want to share or show off
Hugs to all

HI Meno!
TBH, I don't know when this Python pod was made. Rogue Escape Pods in Ireland, I think I bought it sometime in 08. Was a custom order - this grey python and a black python w/ a RIRI zipper. Buyer never claimed them, and I just happen to inquire about pods at the right time and got lucky. And yep, still have them. She's made some very cool pods... there are MANY I would love to have.
