Strung me along for a week complaining that she thought maybe the bag wasn't authentic, even after I paid for CarolDiva to authenticate it for her. Did not respond to Unpaid Item Dispute. Irritating buyer, too.

Put in an offer through Best Offer for a bag, which I accepted. Emails me indignantly after receiving the invoice, claiming I never emailed her to let her know whether this was a good offer or not and why on earth would I assume she actually wanted to buy the bag just because she put in an offer. I copy/pasted the text from Ebay relating to Best Offer and she said she didn't have time to read all this stuff- I guess including the part where you put in an offer and it comes up with a big message that says that you are obligated to pay if the seller accepts .

Claims to have lost job, but conveniently still manages to complete a transaction for a similar item that costs a little less.

This is just this week- what is wrong with the Kool-Aid they're drinking?

Default Getting More Detail on Feedback
You all probably already know this, but you can go to www.toolhaus.org and enter a buyer's or seller's eBay ID and it will bring up all of their negative and neutral feedback so you can see what happened (instead of slogging through 25 pages of feedback). I just learned about this at an eBay focus group I participated in June 16, 2008. Of course now that sellers can not leave buyers negative feedback, the site is not as useful - except that past behavior is usually a pretty good predictor of future behavior. Best regards - Jacqueline (barkingcats)

He made an offer for $4100 on my Hermes bag and never paid, although he told me repeatedly that he had sent the money via bank wire transfer. I have been in contact with 6 of his prior sellers, and they all said the same thing happened to them.

Email me asking to relist my bag said that she would buy it. I obliged and she used BIN, ended not paying for it saying that she wanted to buy for her cousin but turned out her cousin had already the same bag. WTH?? This is a vintage Chanel bag, and not a common model too! I filed a NPB and got my FVF back, and got her an unpaid item strike. What a hassle!

Default Flies at the market place.
You have the choice to sell or buy on ebay, a marketplace where you may never look into the eyes of your trading partners.

Away from the market place and from fame takes place all that is great:
away from the market place and from fame have ever dwelt the devisors of new values.

Or you have the choice to avoid playing their loaded game, on their crooked board, with rented pieces.

Flee, my friend, into thy solitude: I see thee stung all over by the
poisonous flies. Flee thither, where a rough, strong breeze blows!

it's unfortunate a few bad apples are ruining it for many. both buyers and sellers need to be more vigilant ensuring they're working with reputable ebayers.

Perhaps the problem is deeper than that.

How many people do you deal with every day that have no greater or lesser flaws in their character then those you class as 'bad apples' on ebay?

Few people would rip off their friends or family.
A few more would rip off acquaintances or distant family.
Even more would rip off people they know they will only meet once.
Even more than that would rip off someone far away who they would only deal with once and would never meet.

It's the distance that turns good apples bad.

eBay ID: hyeri88
Item #: 220224171921

Tried to contact her with several attempts after I accepted her best offer, and never heard from her. Finally, a week later, she e-mails me and informs me that she changed her mind.

This was back in April, so sorry for the late mention. She has a –2 feedback rating, so I imagine she's created another ID by now.
