I expected a USPS priority package today from a county nearby, and the delivery confirmation shows it was delivered at 9:22am. I got no package. I did get 3 UPS packages later in the day. Has anyone ever had the USPS delivery confirmation show that a package was delivered but no package? What should I do? Does this mean someone took it, that they delivered it to the wrong address or ? It's a vintage item bought from ebay.

TIA

ETA: My postman never comes that early, and I did get a soft package in my mailbox today, but no priority box in the mailbox or left by the door, where the UPS boxes were.

Sorry to hear this. Was the item over $250? If so it needs to be signed for and the seller needs to show that if you open an item not received claim via paypal. If it was less than $250 I assume it´s enough if the seller can show delivery.

I´m currently in this situation but I´m the seller. The item, £1500, shows delivered but Royal Mail failed to request signature. Since I cannot provide PP with the signature, which I paid for, I lost the case. My account is now minus £1500 and the buyer has the item and the money.

The item is under $250, and what really vexes me is that I've been getting tons of packages the past two weeks, and this is the only one that has gone missing. I had one that was signature confirmation, and the postman had me sign for that; he delivered it as he was doing his regular rounds. I just don't get how this one can show up on USPS as "delivered" when it wasn't (at least to me). I am sure the seller sent it; I just don't know what to do to get it from the USPS. Since the item is vintage, I can't just buy another one. :(

I´m sorry. It feels as if people become more and more dishonest. Good luck.

Thank you! I really don't think the seller is dishonest at all; I just want to know if anyone has any experience of what to do with the USPS to get my package.

Someone took your package. That´s what I mean by dishonest people.

This actually happened to me once... DC said it was delivered but I never received it. I bugged my postman about it and he was trying his best to help me but no luck! I even went to the actual postmaster at my local post office to see if they had it, but no luck either /:

Buttttt 4 days later it magically showed up!

I say give it a day or two... Hopefully it'll turn up like mine did :) good luck!!

Call the PO at about 8:30 AM. Ask for your carrier.

I have seen this happen before and most of the time, the package shows up. It could be that when the package arrived at your local sorting center, it was scanned 'delivered' before it was routed out for the days deliveries. Or maybe its on the mail truck and the mailman forgot to deliver it (have had this happen personally). Hopefully it will arrive today or in the next few days. Either way, I would open an investigation up. I hope it arrives soon, I know its frustrating.

This is so frustrating but the post office makes these mistakes in delivering packages to the wrong addresses.

I've had to send out replacements a few times when this has happened but more times than not the person who received the wrong parcel has sent it on to its rightful owner.

Best of luck to you in getting your goodies!

Thanks; I spoke to the carrier who says he left it and saw the other boxes, but I show UPS delivered those at 2pm, so the story doesn't jive, and the other person I spoke to at the local USPS says nobody would take one box and not the others. Plus, the other boxes weren't there at 9:22am when it shows he delivered it, so she is looking into it. As it was a rare vintage item, the seller had only the one item. I so hope whomever got my package (if he did deliver it to someone) sets it out for pickup or gives it to the post office. I want to cry :(.

Update: spoke to USPS who spoke to my carrier who initially said he left it at my house, but has now admitted he does not deliver that early, so they are going to do a scan to find out who allegedly delivered the package, and try to find out where they delivered it to. I hope they can find this out, and whomever received it is honest and returns it.

Update: The USPS found that another carrier (not mine) had delivered the package to the wrong address, and it was found and on it's way to me! Yay! Thanks all for your tips so much!
