Today I received a pair of workout pants. I paid close to full price ($97.00), though the pants were used.
First off, they reeked of perfume/airfreshner. Then I go to try them on, and there is white residue in the crotch area.

I send the seller a pleasant email and tell her of the problem, I was sensitive to the fact she is probably embarrassed, so I was nice and told her I'd like to get the pants dry cleaned and would like to be compensated. I told her that I could provide photos.

She sends me this email..
They do not need to be dry cleaned and I don't even wear or own perfume. My neighbor tried them on before I listed them on ebay so I apologize. They were clean and I put them into the priority package folded and never inspected them. You can wash them on normal in your home washing machine and air dry. How about the fact that I sold items on ebay and the buyers either still haven't paid or paid me 10 days after. Were all pissed in this world!

I'm sorry about problems with other Ebayers, but this has nothing to do with this situation.
You sent me dirty merchandise. I can send photos. The perfume smell, is one thing, but the pants
are NOT CLEAN. Ebay requires clothing to be sent CLEAN! If your neighbor soiled them, have her pay for dry cleaning.
I'm getting them dry cleaned, and I what to be reimbursed.
Or I want a partial refund, as you failed to mention the soiled crotch, so the pants were not described accurately.
If this is not acceptable, I will file a SNAD with PP and request a full refund.
I'm shocked you are not taking responsibility for this.

Again, you do not need to dry clean. I understand your pissed. I have never sent un clean items to buyers and this was a mistake. If you want to charge me a dollar for your washing machine cost I will pay you that. The directions on PLANET BODY pants is not to dry clean! Dirt comes out. If you wash them in a washing machine and they don't come clean, then we are dealing with an issue. Your trying to tell me that when you buy a used peice of clothing, you don't wash it before you wear it, not knowing when and who wore it prior.

I would have NEVER spent $100 on an item with vagina discharge. Would you??! Would anybody!!?? This amount is close to what a NEW pair would be.
I want a full refund. Ill be opening a SNAD with PP.

I opened a SNAD and escalated it, as I want nothing more to do with this person.
I'm shaking my head at this one.

Now..over $7.00..for a mistake that is really obviously her fault. She will loose close to a $100.00 and get bad FB, and she has a lot of FB and is 100%.

I'd like to add.. this same thing happened a couple of years ago.
I bought a 'new' bikini with tags, tore off the protective liner, and there was white stuff, as well as a partial skidmark..

I emailed the seller, and asked for a full refund and told her the problem.
She called me three times and left messages, apologizing profusely, and emailed me as well telling me to send the item back for a full refund including shipping.
She explained that the suit was bought on sale and she had never wore it, so was unaware of any stains.
She was a reputable seller and FB was 100%. I didn't beleive her but gave her the benefit of the doubt and appreciated the fact she was concerned and wanted to correct the problem.

I received my refund and wasn't about to leave bad or neutral, as she solved the problem. So I didn't leave any and would buy from her again..

I hope PP doesn't give me any grief, if they do, Ill file
a chargeback with my CC.

I can't beleive how clueless this seller is..

Way to hold the line, I will be sure to follow up and see how she 'reacts' and if she changes her tune.

Edit: I almost said white line.. but then again.. that might be "to close to home" :)

You did the best thing you could do for yourself hygiene wise.

You should not be expected to wash or dry clean any item.

This seller should assume responsibility since she has acknowledged that

her neighbor tried them on.

The SNAD is exactly what is appropriate under these circumstances for sure.

Okay, that's really gross, but her attitude is a lot grosser. Man, what is it with people? Oh yeah, wait, I KNOW -- they NEVER make mistakes, and NEVER take responsibility. You are well off getting out of this thru your SNAD. Ugh, I wouldn't want anything that had been exposed to that much negative energy! (never mind whatever else it was exposed to!)

This might possibly be the grossest thing I've heard all day... and I'm a nurse! Having your neighbor try on your pants before you send them off to an ebayer is weird, but having her do it without PANTIES on... that's just plain crazy! Ick!!!!!

Stick to your guns! Get your money back! I wouldn't take the chance of dealing with it either.

I would have advised that you try EBAY RESOLUTION CENTER first, but NVM.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall at PP when they read this one!

Now we all know why they used to have those annoying paper strips in bathing suits when you try them on. For all I know they may still have them? I haven't bought a bathing suit in a while...but my dear sainted mother (god rest her soul

1918-1988) used to INSIST that I keep on my undies whenever I tried on a bathing suit. As much to keep my cooties from getting on the suit as to be sure I did not get some I am sure

Still---I always thought to myself that, just like "footies" for trying on shoes" that each person should be given their own paper/plastic strip for trying on swimsuits.
