Default Couple of crazy paranoid buyers lately...

Ok so let me preface this by saying that I just started my last semester today so obviously, I wasn't at home to answer emails. In this first situation, I get two wacko emails from this one buyer that I REFUSE to deal with, seeing all the stipulations he has.
I'm selling this pair of shoes, they're absolutely clean and in brand new condition, as I clearly state all over the auction, and show in the pictures. Here's the guy's first email:
Hi Sorry, if you received this already. I tried to send you a msg but failed earlier. Anyway, I don't have 10 good rating but I am interested in your shoes for my gf. Since they are white, are they clean and new and no damage? Are they something you can givae away as gift? Well, I am actually in Asia but I have a friend visiting California from sept 12 to 19 so he can bring back the shoes for me. I can do paypal payment, if you can mail out early like Sept 8. BTW, Are both shipping methods registered mail? Can I pay for and have you buy insurance? I mean I hate not receiving the shoes in the end, if I pay for them. I rather pay for insurance so you can make a claim and return my money if they got lost in the mail. Thx

Yeah the guy has ONE fb comment from May, asking me to do all this stuff, acting like I, with my 1000+ all positive feedback, am going to scam him out of his money/items and like he KNOWS they'll get lost in the mail. I think not. In that case, I'd be out both my money since I'd have to refund AND the shoes I sold. Then I get another email from him:

Hi
I just saw you will be mailing the shoes from ___, CA right? My friend will be visiting San Jose, Bay area, in Nor Cal, so I think my friend's schedule in US should be fine. Not sure how long Paypal does the money settlement but I think there is enough time to complete this order. Ideally, US Postal Service Parcel Post should be fine as well. So, can you mail out early next week.

I blanked out my location just for privacy. Anyway um no, I won't.
I responded to the guy by saying thank you for your interest, but I only send to confirmed addresses and send directly to the person buying the item.

What a nightmare!!!

Second, a buyer buys a $30 item from me, pays by money order, is practically 15 mins away from me in the same city and buys INSURANCE for the item like it's going to get lost. None of my items have ever gotten lost and I use tracking numbers for qualified items (within the package thickness that the PO terms state). I'm sending it tomorrow since I got his money order today, it will arrive on Thursday since we're in the same city.

Anyway sorry for the little rant, I just couldn't believe what I came back to for only being gone a couple of hours this afternoon.

Your first buyer—or is he just a potential buyer/bidder?—sounds like a total freak. OMG. I don't blame you for blocking this person and ignoring them because already he has a list of "requirements & demands" BEFORE he bids/buys? Ugh. Don't walk away from this, RUN!!!!!

^Ya he's just a potential bidder, thank goodness. He acts like he is positive they're going to get lost in the mail.
Keeping my fingers crossed, in over 2 years of selling, I have never had ONE package ever get lost.

Insurance is great! I make everyone who buys from buy it, it's to protect me not them.

I'd def not let the first person buy

Lol, yeah I always get tracking. I rarely sell anything super pricey, so insurance isn't really necessary IMO. But when I send anything over $100, I always make it mandatory. I was just surprised to see that a buyer requested it for a $30 item being shipped within the same city.

Anyway, I'd be interested to see if this buyer emails me back...probably not.
Remember that one buyer I wrote about who asked if I'd ship to Bahrain and if I could send to their relative in Texas? He never wrote back either lol.

OMG, he emailed me again. WHAT the h*ll??? Can I block his mail?
Hi

Shipping to Paypal confirmed address. This is no issue for me. In fact, I have it set up already in my paypal acct. So, please still consider I am a potential customer.

Q1) Are the shoes clean and new and no damage?
Q2) Can you verify and buy insurance for shipping while I can pay for the insurance?

I mean the thing is if package got lost in mail, buyer and seller will run into issue with money. To avoid this, we need to use registered mail so you have proof that mail was not delivered at all. With insurance, if you have proof that goods was not delivered, then buyer can get the money back and seller can file the claim and keep the claimed money.

Thx

Unbelievable. Are you selling via BIN or Auction? Did you block him as bidder already? You could reply that you're as eager to lose him as he is eager to lose the shoes. I feel bad for anyone who falls for scammers like this one. It's a shame.

It's just an auction (thank goodness I guess) and unfortunately, I'm the only one with this particular size available. I already blocked him from bidding too.
I should probably just say something like, "As a seller, I feel this is too risky of a transaction and do not feel comfortable with it, I hope you can find a similar pair elsewhere."

And WHY does he freaking keep asking me about the condition and asking about registering them and buying insurance?? I've stated a million times in the auction that they're BRAND NEW, NEVER WORN, and show pictures of the bottoms and everything. I feel like he's either going to 1- claim they never came, or 2- dirty them up and claim that they were damaged when he received them.

UGH.

Ok, I'm going to email him back one last time and hope he goes away...how does this sound (I'm trying to be tactful):

Hi there, to answer your questions, yes as stated in the description and shown in the pictures, the shoes are brand new and are absolutely clean because they were never worn.
Second, yes, I would buy insurance.
Based on my 8 years of excellent feedback, I would encourage you to bid with confidence, however, as a seller, I don't feel comfortable with this particular potential transaction. In my time on eBay, I have never had a package get lost and I always have tracking numbers for the items so no claims have ever been needed. I hope you can find the shoes from a seller you feel more comfortable with and I respectfully ask that you do not bid as neither you nor I are comfortable with this potential sale.
Thanks.

My one comment is, why answer his Qs, tell him you would get insurance and encourage him to bid with confidence if you're not going to sell him the bag anyway? He might get confused and keep bugging you...you know what I mean? I would start the note on "As a seller, I don't feel comfortable with this particular potential transaction...." Just my 2 cents. GL!

True...I guess I'm just trying to answer them so he doesn't accuse me of trying to avoid the questions, or like, creating another id to bid and win then accuse me of things. Weird I guess.
I'll just do the last part then like you suggested.
I think I'll wait until tomorrow though.

And also, I just thought of another thing...if he's in Asia, how is his address confirmed? I didn't think anyone outside the US had confirmed addresses?
