Default Careless buyer...
I sold my "jailbroken" iPhone on eBay.

Right before the auction ended, winning bidder asked question if it was unlocked. I didn't have time to repsond and figured she would just not bid if she was unsure.

Well of course, she bid, and won. Now she's emailing me asking if it will work with TMobile (which it won't as it is now). I told her it was "jailbroken," not "unlocked" and she didn't reply.

I sent her the phone since she paid as soon as the auction ended.

How can I protect myself just in case she wants to return it? I'm afraid she'll make something up in order to get me to take it back...

You can't. It's done. You'll have to wait and see.

Sit tight and just be patient to see how this will unfold.

My guess is that you will be OK. Your thread title says it all.

If I ask a question, especially one like that, a potential dealbreaker, and do not receive a reply, I don't buy the thing.

It is just a nerdword, it means an iphone whose insides and things have been tweaked and juj'ed a little bit so that people can put different kinds of software and ringtones and things on it.

Somebody with an iphone can probably explain it better.

^ A "jailbroken" iPhone is one that, using certain software, is tweaked to be able to change the colors of the background, the slider bar, the app icons, etc. and also add lots of apps and ringtones that are unavailable through the App Store in iTunes.

An "unlocked" iPhone is one that will work under any carrier, although usually with limitations.

Unfortunately, with how PP has been running lately, if she wants to return it badly enough, PP will probably back her up. I hope it all works out for you!

Any update on this?
I asked because I have a similar situation. Different item though, a handbag. She didn't ask any questions. The day she got her item, she simply filed a SNAD. If she does that, then there is nothing you can do but refund. I hope it doesn't get to that.

Got an email from the buyer yesterday asking why I had sent her a box with no iPhone in it. And no, I'm not kidding. She's already filed a SNAD. What a disgusting, awful person to do something like this. I'm posting on my iPhone, I'll give better updates later.

I'm sorry that you have to deal the disgusting claim. I can't believe how some people can do such a nasty thing.

There is a thread of the similar situation...
Buyer saying received empty box!??!? WTD!?

I think in these situations the best thing to do is check the weight of the box at the time of shipping, if you have your tracking slip it will show the weight when you shipped the item, an iphone is luckily kind of heavy so it will def. weigh more than an empty box. Hope everything works out for you!!!
I hate this kind of stuff, I buy on ebay, and this kind of behavior makes it harder for all of us.
