ITA. If you chose to, you could be insulted that she pushed you around and complicated matters for you. Anyway, it's utter BS. Always protect yourself kuz no one else will do it for you...

Thanks LindaP & Karmenzsofia for your help!

Before you send it out, did you check with PP to see exactly how (and IF) you are covered? Or does it say anything on the PP ship page? Sometimes they will say, "this transaction is partially covered." Be sure and get signature delivery confirmation so you can prove she received it.

Of course there's a risk.

There's the risk that the Fedex account used is not her own, that the bill gets disputed on her end, and Fedex will then come after the seller for the charges.

Oh, I see there's been a lot of new developments on this thread.

I'm glad you didn't go ahead with the Fedex, OP.

Oh yikes!! Red flags all the way.....I will admit, if I 'trust" someone to have them put an item on my personal FedEx account, it has always worked out. Such as a tpfer and I 'know" them reasonably well from tpf.

This is crazy though......BS detector for sure! I also suggest a mutual withdrawal for the transaction. The fact that she is "offended" makes it even more shady. Any honest person would realize that this story sounds completely off!

Ooops, just saw that you said you are going to ship with the Irish postal service.......just make sure to have signature upon arrival and FULLY insured to her PP addy.

I work for my dad and i always ask for the items i purchase from US to be shipped by Fedex using our company's account. There is a 20% discount or so for company (Singapore)..

Thank you all for your advice and assistance! TPF is great

On the PayPal ship page it said fully covered. Buyer paid immediately and responded promptly to emails and had great feedback. The only issue of concern was the shipping method.

I shipped via irish postal service courier (2 day deliverly service) with tracking, signature on deliverly and insurance (my normal shipping method). I will let you guys know how it pans out. Fingers, eyes and toes crossed it will be ok!

I've learned my lesson - buyer controls shipping method. full stop.

The dress arrived safely at her local post office Friday morning. She collected the dress this morning (Monday) and left positive feedback for me late this evening - phew! Thank goodness thats over! (At least I hope its over - keeping her e-mails and my pics and reciepts for 3 months just in case!).

My future listings will state Irish postal system as the only shipping method!

Thanks for your support Tpfers!

I just read this thread from the beginning. It amazes me how people expect you to jump through hoops for them!!

I'm glad you didn't use 'their' FedEx account (and to say I use that term loosely is an understatement!!)

I'm glad that the dress got their via a method that you had control over AND that you received positive feedback!!

I've overnighted a Prada bag and D&G shoes on 2 different occasions using buyers' fedex accounts without even blinking (because I'm used to using other companies' accounts to ship my portfolios)! But from now on, I'm going to only use my shipping methods just in case there's a loophole that I can't foresee.
