All of this mess is so insane. I feel for you OP. Fight it. Do not back down.
That buyer should be feathered, drawn and quartered. And we need to add her to the blocked list. Did you already say her ebay ID?

What a mess.... I'm so sorry you have to deal with this person.
I'm not sure exactly when, but I have read a buyer sent back abused bag to a seller on this forum not too long ago. Ebay or Paypal sided with the seller. I will try to find the thread. It might give you some tips to deal with them. Please don't give up!

As a matter of principle you should fight this case. Good luck!

Don't throw in the towel just yet - fight it! Hey even if you lose, at least you're able to drag it out before the buyer can get her money back. Also you never know, you may end up winning.

My buyer had also used the whole cancer story too. I wish some of these scammer buyers will get more creative and come up with a different illness - maybe something rare that nobody has heard of instead of the cancer story over and over again.

a) there was so much paper around it
b) she used a "special tool" to cut the box open that doesn't cut very deep
Most of the time it makes more sense to me to give in rather than fight but I don't think this is one of those times. She has admitted to making the cut in the box. You have the box with a cut in it and the bag with a similar cut in it. It is by far the more credible story that the cuts were made by the same person using the same "special tool" (whether accidentally or intentionally, it doesn't matter). I would take photos of the cut in the box and the cut in the bag. Others can tell you how to include these photos in the information you send to ebay about your claim. (I believe you put them in photobucket and provide the link to ebay.)

Oh, and I wouldn't worry about your feedback at this point in time. You could bend over backwards and she could still leave you a neg. I'm sure that the first neg is a tough one to take but this is a good mountain for your 100% rating to fall on.

think that when a potential buyer should see 1neg that really doesn't influence
them so much with regard to making a purchase... know the first may be hard to
take and probably not desersved, but your other fb speaks for itself..

Wellp she is in total flame mode now - the abusive and conflicting messages just keep coming.. she is now saying I listed the item as "mint" - which is hysterical.. and I am a "scammer" yeahhhh buddy! But wait - before that - there were messages that said "just send the bag back" "just give me $50" "just send me another bag" (I don't think so!!!) "I know you are a nice person" "I'm sorry" And the case opened/closed/reopened..
I mean - I am ready to give her the $50 to just leave me the heck alone -- but -- umm -- isn't that extortion and bullying?
Meanwhile - I have a crapload of other things to deal with and this person has held me hostage for days...
Is there an actual number at eBay that I can call to discuss this with someone? I have yet to find one on the site - or find where to find a number - though I have called them before on other matters - I think the stress is starting to disintegrate my brain..

No, don't just give her the $50 because then she'll be like, "I made a typo, I meant $500!"

This person is on the cray cray train, and she's not getting off any time soon...she may even be a permanent resident.

OP, ebay definitely weighs the way people communicate back and forth in their decision making. This flip flopping of asking for a full refund, partials, opening and closing the case, etc. won't be looked upon favorably. AT ALL. Stand your ground. I doubt you're going to lose at this point. The buyer has shot herself in the foot far too many times.

Log into "My Ebay" on ebay to get to your account. Go into the information pages. If you poke around the answers to questions, eventually you'll get a page that says something like "Did this answer your question?" And from there you can get phone contact information. You'll get a PIN number along with a phone number. Sorry I can't be more specific in the instructions, but either ebay is slow or my Internet link is creeping along, because I can't log into ebay.

So sorry that you're having to deal with this fruitloop! The whole situation sounds absolutely horrible. Good luck!

Thank you so much.. everyone.
Buyer has escalated the case since I politely said "no" to the offer of "just give me $50 or one of your other crappy old bags that I don't want anyway and and I'll leave you alone" (seriously.. this would be funny if it wasn't happening to me ).

Her last missive was along the lines of (decoding from all caps cray-cray)'I really only asked for the original refund before shipping because I didn't think the bag was authentic' -- now thems fightin words (and ridiculous) - and oh wait.. so.. doesn't that mean that the original 5-6 reasons were LIES? Dragging BS authenticity remarks into this indicates to me that she is really trying to intimidate me.

Is there an emoticon for banging my head against the wall?
