Default Buyer making up lies - help me!
I'm SO mad right now I can barely type!
OK - I sold a MoniMoni splendor bag on Ebay. The buyer submitted an offer and I accepted. Shortly after that she contacted me asking me to not make her pay. Said she had a big vet bill come up. I told her I was being charged a final value fee and she had to pay. I opened a non payment claim, this went on for two weeks and she finally paid. For anyone not familar with MoniMoni - it's made to look very worn. In the auction I stated the leather is made to look work, I said to be familar with this bag before purchasing because some people do not like this look. I also said to go view the bags on the monimoni site.
How about the girl opens up a pay pal claim, says the bag had 4 pen marks on it, the inside had DIRT in it, the handles were "soiled" and something about a watermark!!! All of this is untrue. I listed the bag as new without tags and stated i had carried it maybe two weeks. The pictures show what perfect condition this bag is in.

Does anyone know how paypal usually sides? I put all this in my response to PP. Plus I'm sure they can view the pictures from the auction.

what if the buyer messes up my bag to support her claim?

Will PP make me pay her back plus let her keep the bag???

I will never sell on Ebay again after this. It's not worth it!!!

help!

Unfortunately we hear more and more stories like yours. Ebay seems to be ruling mostly in favor of buyers, so be prepared to give her a refund and hope you get our back bag and it is in the same shape as when you sent it out. Sorry this happened to you; it is frustrating. There are some real stinkers out there and it looks like you got one of them.

Will PP make her return the bag at all?
When I was disputing her claim I read where one of the options was for me to refund her and her keep the bag.

If I do have to refund will they make her send the bag back first?

Oh Lord - is there anyway to leave her negative feedback?

well truthfully, when she asked to get out of the transaction, i would have done a 'mutual withdrawal' and ended the sale and gotten your fees back that way. forcing the buyer into it just left you wide open for a bogus claim.

you can reply in the dispute panel that you will refund the buyer after return of the bag. which you might as well just do that now before she goes and destroys the bag to prove to ebay it is damaged. just tell her to return it to you for refund, then you can relist it.

and you can't leave her negative feedback, but she can leave you negative.

I've already disputed, can I go back now and tell her to refund it?

I didn't know I could agree to just end the transaction and avoid final value fee. I would have done that. this is mess! I wont sell on Ebay no more. I just shipped another bag this morning (bulga) now my stomach is in knots if this buyer will do me the same way!!

Did you call paypal? I would call and speak with paypal ASAP. If you have the pictures from the listing, you can prove the condition of the bag. You can prove that the buyer is trying to scam you. They might surprise you, paypal was VERY helpful with my dispute. As a seller I thought they would side with the buyer, but to my surprise, they sided with me, the seller, and closed the dispute within 24 hrs. I was shocked! Give them a call asap. Don't be discouraged, just explain the situation. Also, you should check the buyer's feedback. I like to see their rating, to see their buying pattern.

contact paypal and let them know you'd like to agree to take the bag back for refund. then just be done with her.

you can do that, or try to dispute, but i think the buyer could damage the bag and then take photos and then you'd be stuck with a damaged bag. so to avoid getting into a full on dispute, i'd say just tell her to mail back for refund.

and yes, you can cancel a transaction mutually before/after payment if both parties agree, and you refund the person, and then you get your fees back. for future.

most people don't scam others on ebay, so don't worry. the indication she wanted out before even paying is probably why she's doing this. most people want the good they purchase.

I would fight it. At this point you have nothing to lose by responding to the buyer's dispute, declining a return/refund, and let PP make a ruling. The PP website walks you through it, but if you're nervous, call PP. If your description and photos are thorough, you stand a chance. You gain nothing by jumping the gun and agreeing to a return/refund, as this buyer had no intentions of keeping the bag from day one. And no, of course she wouldn't get to keep the bag and the money. She would have to prove that she returned the bag to you in order to get a refund from PP.

The SAME thing just happened to me!! Paypal doesn't care about the seller's AT ALL!!! It's so frustrating!!!! I had photographic proof or my bag's perfect condition and they sided with the buyer regardless. I basically had no say/choice in the matter. DONE with Ebay!!!!

First of all, you shouldn't have listed it as New Without Tags. You admitted you had used it for 2 weeks. That is not "new". And it is a manipulation of search results.

As a buyer, if I am looking for something new and used the Advanced option to narrow my search, the last thing I want is to trawl through listings for items that are not new.

That being said, Paypal favours the buyers more than sellers so you have a slight chance of winning this but in either case, you should prepare yourself for a neg unless you are able to talk to the buyer and come to a positive resolution.

I don't see a completed auction for a Moni Moni Splendor, so it's hard to say.
