It looks like it is her. The photo posted in the Handbags and Purses forum is exactly the same as the OP's auction.

Does anyone know how paypal usually sides? I put all this in my response to PP. Plus I'm sure they can view the pictures from the auction.

what if the buyer messes up my bag to support her claim?

Will PP make me pay her back plus let her keep the bag???

I will never sell on Ebay again after this. It's not worth it!!!

Your bag wasn't 'new' if you carried it for two weeks, it should have been listed as used.

Otherwise though, PP will likely side with the buyer, they'll ask her to return the bag and she'll have to pay return shipping but you will be out original shipping. You can choose to fight it and it may be worth a shot, occasionally we'll hear of a seller winning a case. The 'refund' option was perhaps the option of you giving her a partial refund and allowing her to keep the bag.

I would always let a buyer out of a sale if they wanted out, it's only going to cause more hassle later when they file a claim to return a bag and you're taking a chance that she could damage the bag before sending it back to try and prove her case.

Good luck!

Linda

I'm confused too. Did the buyer post the thread to "create" a claim? In the thread picture, it does not show any of the issues mentioned.

I have to agree with the others, this bag should not have been listed as "new" if admittedly carried for two weeks. NWOT is new, period for buyers.

OK - I sold a MoniMoni splendor bag on Ebay. The buyer submitted an offer and I accepted. Shortly after that she contacted me asking me to not make her pay. Said she had a big vet bill come up. I told her I was being charged a final value fee and she had to pay. I opened a non payment claim, this went on for two weeks and she finally paid. For anyone not familar with MoniMoni - it's made to look very worn. In the auction I stated the leather is made to look work, I said to be familar with this bag before purchasing because some people do not like this look. I also said to go view the bags on the monimoni site.
How about the girl opens up a pay pal claim, says the bag had 4 pen marks on it, the inside had DIRT in it, the handles were "soiled" and something about a watermark!!! All of this is untrue. I listed the bag as new without tags and stated i had carried it maybe two weeks. The pictures show what perfect condition this bag is in.

OP: Now that the auction was found (no idea why it doesn't show up in a normal search), I can see a couple of problems: (a) as others noted, you listed the bag as new when it wasn't and stated it was in "perfect condition," which usually opens a can of worms unless the bag is unused and truly perfect; (b) the lining doesn't look so good.

Consequently, PP will most likely side with the buyer. You can still fight a return/refund and leave it up to PP to decide, or agree to a r/r now--whatever you think is best for you.

As to the bit about the vet bill, that sounds like a load of BS from the buyer, who has 213 transactions over nearly seven years on eBay and knows better than to try to get out of paying for an item she won. Nevertheless, TBH, I wouldn't push a sale on a buyer that's saying he/she doesn't want the item, even though I would be "right" to do so, kuz chances are it will come back to bite you in the ass. Now, you can't report her for an unpaid item, you loose your FVFs, she gets to leave feedback, you have to deal with a PP dispute/claim...in other words, you, not the person breaking the rules, ends up with the short end of the stick.

Perhaps you have additional information that could clarify this transaction further and give us another POV.

trumanfinn: I know exactly what you mean. It doesn't take much for me to see red flags. You could've just blocked that particular bidder vs ending your auction early, though. What a pain...

As a buyer, if I am looking for something new and used the Advanced option to narrow my search, the last thing I want is to trawl through listings for items that are not new.

That being said, Paypal favours the buyers more than sellers so you have a slight chance of winning this but in either case, you should prepare yourself for a neg unless you are able to talk to the buyer and come to a positive resolution.
Absolutely agree! Someone who lists used items as new might not notice a few pen marks as well, sorry.

why did you list it as new when you used it for two weeks!? that is NOT new. You should not have listed it as new w/o tags. When i do a search i hate it when a seller states new but then says it was use

Not that you can but why would you want to leave the buyer a Neg, YOU should get the neg for lying in your acution

OP is just hiding out because she knows she is wrong she logged in today

guess so...its just a big coincidence that her buyer has scammed many tPFers. Maybe this is just a case of dishonest meeting dishonest?

Wait a minute! - In my description I said "I had carried the bag for two weeks tops" - the bag is still NEW without tags.

Yes this is the same girl and that is my bag in the listing.

I'll respond to all your questions below.

I listed in my description I had carried the bag for maybe two weeks. however I still consider that a "new" bag. I always list the amount of time I've carried a bag and if their are flaws I list that as well. I've purchased many bags on Ebay myself that are listed as New without tags and then the seller goes on to list if the bag was every carried. I dont have a problem with this.

The "pen marks" she is referring to are the distress of the leather. This feature is on every Moni Moni bag you purchase. I've had two and both have this circular rotation on them. Now for the soiling she said the bag had - there is NONE of that and I have pictures to back it.

The inside lining of the bag has an "old" look to it, again all moni moni bags do however there was absolutly NO wear on the inside of this bag.

Further more... as of today the buyer closed the PP claim. She said she did researched and learned what I was telling her was the truth about the circular rotation marks. She apologized, said she was sorry for the stress she caused. Asked if we could both leave good feedback.

Thanksfully - this is over

I agree that NWOT on eBay means "never used" but to most people not on eBay "new" would also mean what the OP is saying it means.

To jump on her and say "your idea of new is SKEWED and way off" is a little harsh...perhaps she could be given the chance to learn the difference first??

I agree that people need to stop attacking the OP! Even the buyer now admitted to her mistake.

To me NWOT means that the condition is NEW. If it was carried a few times, I think the condition can still be new...JMO.
