i ran into the same problem last month. the buyer claimed my authentic LV was fake because she could not find the "serial number" (referring to the datecode) and demanded a refund. i emailed her a picture of the datecode and assured her that it's real and she can take it to her local boutique herself to confirm it.

she then replied by saying she did not expect the bag to be so small and asked again if she could get a refund. i told her the dimensions were clearly written on the description and it's her responsibility to do the research before buying the item.

i think the buyer just didn't want the bag anymore and was looking for any excuse to return the bag. pathetic, really.

she never replied after that and did not end up sending the bag back. she also did not leave me any feedback.

take a strong stance and don't be scared. you are right and most likely she knows that but is still trying to play tricks with you to see if she can get away with it.

what if they switched you authentic bag for a fake and its not just buyers remorse. i would not return it and if you do tell the buyer that you mark all of your bags in a secret place and you will only refund his money if the bag has your secret mark. that will stop the buyer from switching yours for a fake

You should always use security tags. I had someone say an LV I sold them was fake. I only accepted the item back because of the security tag and I didn't refund them until after they returned it to me. I had figured out, after the fact, they had bought the same bag in the same week on ebay for cheaper and thats why they wanted it returned. Had I known they did that beforehand, I wouldn't of accepted the return. It also turns out that the other bag they won was fake! I was so glad I put the security tag on it. It could of very well been bait and switch. Plus I charged a 25% restocking fee. did they bitch and moan? Yes. But too bad.

What I do when I list a handbag is tell them that I am sending it to them with a security tag on the handbag, and if that is tampered with the refund will be void as I have had 1 person send a fake back to me. The other thing I do now in my return is tell them that the only way to get a refund is to have it proven to be fake, give me the number and name of the person to call, and then I will inform them of how to return for refund. The other thing I do is charge them for all fees incured, Ebay listing, final val, plus Paypal fees and shipping fees both ways. I have had a couple returned because it just wasn't what they wanted, not that it was fake, as mine aren't so that put a stop to that. I am not Wal-mart....lol. But alas I am suspended now for bogus reasons. Trust and Security at Ebay don't know their buttholes from a whole in the ground, and they will take anyones word (other than the sellers) that the handbag is bogus, yet I sit here and watch all kinds of replicas being sold. What a shame the honest are the injured anymore.
Have a great day folks.

Sean
