HI Ellie Mae WOW WHAT A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE. I was not even thinking that DUH. I did not even think ,the CC will not just go into their funds. They would for sure go after the seller and get the money back.So yes now the seller out a bag plus the money, and did nothing wrong.Flip side buyer out of money did nothng worng. No win situation.IMO I think even if the seller had bought insuracne it still would not have been covered as it was left at the home *signed for *so delivered in the PO eyes. What a shame. Makes you sacerd to death of ebay especially!!

You got that right.. Neither buyer nor seller did anything wrong, both are screwed. This was reported to USPIS for investigation. INS not applicable.
This is solely the fault of a USPS employee and only USPS can ever make this right.

SOOOOOO AWFUL. i cannot even imagine what this OP has gone through and seller too. It is soo unfair this USPS agent is off the hook for FORGING a signature first off then losing the package. it absolutely needs to be paid back to the buy out of the agent who did this -her-his pocket IMO Absolutely absurd!!! I am sooo glad I finally figured out-with the help of a AMAZING tPF member - how to post and get on tPF!! It has REALLY OPENED my eyes.I mean i have been with ebay for 10 years now , and all these things I am seeing and reading FLOORS ME!! I am now sooo cautious and soo much more careful, due to all these HORRIFIC things that have happened to all these innocent victims. My heart REALLY goes out to each of them Even when you are careful and do all the right things this still happens sooo scary!!!

What happened with this? I think dealing with the post office in situations like this is far more frustrating than selling on ebay. A similar thing happened where my package was lost when it went out for delivery at destination post office. (A ghetto-like area where my post office said they have a lot of 'theft') You wouldn't believe the hoops I had to jump through to get my insurance check. The postal employee was very snippy and arrogant, like I did something wrong. Thankfully I keep impeccable records, and had every single thing they requested...it seemed like whenever I was asked for a document, and I produced it, the postal employee got a little ticked off. I think he was hoping I had no records so they could deny my claim. Unbelievable.

If you can get to the right higher-up, they can resolve this. A client of ours used to be the head postmaster in Honolulu, man when stuff would get to him, it would be resolved. On a supervisor or even post office level, the supervisors tended to cover for their employees, but the higher up you go, surprisingly the more competent help you get. Mainly because they don't work with the individuals trying to cover for one another. There's no excuse for someone signing for you, let alone a postal worker. Ummmm....forgery = crime!!

Good news everyone! I FINALLY got my money back from the USPS carrier
She overnighted a Cashier's check to me this past weekend. I'm so happy! After 2 1/2 months, it's finally over! I wanna thank you guys for all the support..without all your tips and comments, I don't think I would've known what to do..I know I didn't really follow up on what was happening in the past month- I guess I just got so frustrated, I didn't think I would get anything back..
But thank you..THANK YOU to Ellie Mae, LindaP, rilokiley--rilokiley's dad, if it wasn't for him, I don't even think the USPIS would investigate this case and probably be put in the back burner for a looong time. To my seller and fellow TPF'er, you know who you are- you are awesome! Thanks for all your help!

OMG! I am so thrilled that this is FINALLY resolved! Neither you nor your seller did anything wrong. This transaction should have been an easy and pleasant one.
Kudos to USPIS for investigating and assisting in getting this resolved. And kudos to you and your seller for maintaining your sanity!!
And you are welcome, happy to help when I can.

So glad this one worked out. So if I understand you correctly, the USPS carrier had to pay this out of her own pocket? Because this may make USPS carriers be more responsible about delivering and getting signatures from actual recipients (i.e., not just leaving package or getting your neighbor or someone else to sign for pkg) if they are personally held responsible.
