I have had a booth on bonanzle for months now and no sales, and hardly any questions. Maybe itīs because Iīm in Sweden? I am sad that my selling on fbay is much more successful than on bonanzle....I wish it were the other way around,

Kat

I just registered and joined Bonanzle! I'm excited to try something new. I bought a purse yesterday at Michael Kors and all of their sale items are final sale. I'm now second guessing my choice of buying the bag, so I was debating selling on evilbay. I think I will try to sell it first in Bonanzle and see how it goes. Thanks everyone for the info about this site.

Ugh, I need help!

I'm selling a Gucci purse up for auction on Ebay... along with a few other items. When I registered for Bonanzle, I transferred all my listings over to Bonanzle and adjusted the prices to take into account that there were no Ebay fees. I keep both listings up since I've gotten offers on both sites for my items. In my listings I guarantee the authenticity of my items and invite any bidder to authenticate the pics here, on tpf... well they were authenticated today and someone insinuated that the bag might be fake because the item is posted on Ebay & Bonanzle!

So what do I do? I've jumped through a ton of hoops and I can guarantee the authenticity of the bag - it was purchased 2 months ago from a boutique along with another bag (which I later exchanged, no problem, for a different texture at my local Gucci store). I hate giving out item serial number before purchase, but I did that to make the potential buyer feel better, along w/extra pictures & my tpf username. I even *say* on my listing that once the item is sold, I'll provide the name of the purchesor (my dad), the name/contact info for the boutique where purchased, and the exact date of purchase so whoever wins the auction can go to any boutique and look up the processing info and check the serial number. There's even a thread about whether or not I should keep the bag in the Gucci forum!

I'm kind of upset at this and I have no idea how to handle it... help!!

Okay, we need more information. Can you post a link to the auction? That might help with authentication purposes. If the item is authentic as you claim, it could have just been someone uneducated who made the insinuation. Many people do not know that you can have an auction for the same item on both the bay and Bonanzle. Having the item for sale on both sites does not necessarily mean it's counterfeit.

Did someone on tPF comment that your auction was fake? What was the reason? Do you have the proper authentication photos posted on your auction? Sometimes when sellers do not have the proper photos, buyers assume it's fake. Anyway, until these questions are answered, it's difficult to tell you what to do. However, it sounds like you were merely the victim of someone claiming your auction was fake without sound evidence. I hope you get it all worked out.

Thanks for the quick response, I'm over here getting more and more upset

Here's the auction: Bonanzle and Ebay. I sent the seller about 7-8 additional shots plus a shot of the serial number. The pictures were deemed too blurry (which I just found out by viewing the thread just now) but I never received a follow-up request from the buyer for clearer pictures. On my computer, the photos look fine, and I can read the serial numbers clearly. In any case, I make it very clear in my listings that I am willing to accomodate additional requests for photos, etc. (or at least I *thought* that was clear).

TFP was inclusive but the buyer insinuated that it was suspecious and therefore inauthetic because of the double post. I'm just kind of like whattttttt @ my bag being bandied about like that. I would absolutely hate for someone to go on tfp to authenticate any of my stuff and think that I support fake items and sell them!!

If it turns out my pictures really are too blurry, I'm OK with that and I can change the photos. I can't revise them on Ebay (Ebay placed a revising limit on me because I have a feedback score of 17 & 100%). But I can revise them on Bonanzle and I can send any potential buyer - Ebay or Bonanzle - who asks for clearer, more specific photos... as long as they ask (or even tell me that the photos are blurry in the first place!).

Hi peachi521, I just checked your posts in "auth this Gucci" and the pics are indeed not clear enough. Don't be upset, post in "auth this Gucci", let the authenticators know that you're the owner of the clutch, ask them what pics are needed to prove that it's authentic. The person who authenticated it never said it was fake #3636 , she did suggest to buyer to request for more pics, looks like the buyer who's suspicious and decided not to ask for more pics. #3633 #3637 Anyway, I'm sure it'll be OK.Good luck selling!

Thanks I actually contacted one of the authenticators and decided not to post in the authenticate this forum (didn't want to seem like self-advertisement) and I think everything is worked out now! I just hate to think that anything associated with me would even be seen in a poor light. I'll definitely take more pictures but it's good to know that everyone on tfp was so helpful... thanks again

I would say, if possible, edit both descriptions and say the item is listed for auction on another site (don't mention the site name as I believe that is against bay rules) and the listing can end early if you get an offer from the other site. At least if you have that on both auctions buyers will have a heads up. Do you have the same seller name for both sites? That may help too.

EDIT: I just saw that you can't edit bay's listing. But at least you can e-mail potential buyers if they contact you and let them know you have the item on 2 sites. Mention that in bonanzle so that they can go to the bay and email you from there to verify.

I have items on ebay and bonanzle. I did my fist Bonanza last night...everything 10$ off, and I didn't even receive questions about my items! At least its free to have the items on Bonanzle.
Maybe since its a holiday, last night wasn't a big selling night? Usually sundays and mondays are good for me on ebay, but I didn't sell anything last night!

Thanks for the advice! I thought about telling my potential buyers that I am listed on bonanzle (especially now that I cannot edit any of my listings on Ebay grrrr) but in another thread someone said that inviting ebay bidders to bonanzle could you get you reprimanded, suspended, or even banned from Ebay...

^^ Just don't mention which site it is. Just say "in case you might have seen elsewhere I have it listed on another site so I have the right to end auction early if it sells there."

I have seen that type of statement on *bay, so I believe as long as you don't state the site your OK.

I agree with the advice that everyone gave so far. I don't think it was really fair that people "jumped to conclusions" about the authenticity of your Gucci bag because of blurry photos, but it's been known to happen. Heck, I've probably been the ringleader in jumping to conclusions even though I know better. At least you can edit your Bonanzle listing, which I see you've already done . I'm glad you got things worked out...again, sorry this happened to you!

Oh wow, I wish I had used that kind of wording! That's perfect, I think. And you're right, I have seen a lot of sellers with notes about "the right to the end the sale early" (along with several sellers doing so).

Actually now I'm wondering how this Ebay/Bonanzle thing will play out on Ebay's part... I wonder if they will start cracking down? Or maybe they'll cut back on seller's fees in order to keep seller's on 'bay?

^^ I'm glad I can help in some way. Maybe you can use it next time.

I hope *bay starts taking notice and changes some of their policies and puts more protections in place from scammers and fake sellers! It makes no sense the things they do sometimes. But on this thread I guess I'm preaching to the choir
