OOps! Sorry! I was using it as an example, but I can certainly see where someone would get the idea that I was promoting it. Guess I should also read the rules here, huh? Won't happen again!
I haven't listed anything on "bay" since switching to Bonanzle, and I hope I don't have to go back to be able to sell my stuff. I've only sold two items since joining Bonanzle a little over a month ago, and my prices are set lower than what they sold for on "bay." I think people may get caught up in the live auction and bid more than they would if it's a fixed price. Anyway, I'm hanging in there for as long as I can. When "bay" changed their feedback system, I had my first unpaid item (in 9 years!), and that issue was getting worse and worse for sellers. That's when I bailed. Thanks for the welcome, TX! In what part of Texas are you? I'm in East Texas. |

Well, thanks to a certain tPF-er, I have sold two pop art prints!!! So if anything, promoting Bonanzle has definitely brought business to our "little community."
Love it!!!!!!

Maybe they didn't anticipate such a high volume so quickly??? I'm really hoping that's what it is. Hang in there, I'm sure they'll get your items listed. |

I was just thinking that it seems toooo easy to scam and be scammed on Bonanzle.
Didn't really have to verify anything to start selling... Anyone else feel the same way? |

@Ima_lurker: In several hundred sales on Bonanzle so far, we have yet to have our first disputed payment/transaction occur so far. Of course it's bound to happen soon, but I think there are more factors than you might at first realize that protect buyers from fake sellers.
The first is that Bonanzle sellers have feedback, just as eBay sellers do. Most of our serious sellers have already imported several thousand feedback from their eBay accounts. Knowing that the seller has established a verifiable eBay presence is a good start to knowing the seller to be trustable. A second way for buyers to spot a quality seller is by the user recommendations. Many of the site's regular sellers are endorsed by other reputable sellers. After a seller earns a few recommendations from site regulars, buyers can gain a good degree of confidence that they're dealing with a genuine seller. I would love to see the tPFers from here share their Bonanzle identities and endorse each other as reputable authorities on the wares with which you are so familiar. Finally, and probably most importantly, almost all our transactions process through Google Checkout and Paypal, which means that even if we don't ask for the user's bank account number, GC or Paypal did. In the case that a transaction is disputed, we will use Paypal / GC to track down the seller who received payment, and use the means already built into their system to pursue and prosecute fake sellers however possible. All that said, could things still go wrong? But of course. If a buyer sees fit to send a money order to a seller with no imported feedback and no endorsements, they are certainly exposing themselves to high risk. But that's pretty obvious stuff, and you wouldn't go and do a thing like that now, would you? :) Cheers, Bill Harding (Totally Unbiased Founder of Bonanzle) |

Thanks, Bill, for clarifying that. I think we're all thrilled to have a possible alternative to freakbay, and your site seems to be the best, thus far. Although my sales aren't anywhere near what they are at freakbay, I realize that that could take time, due to lack of traffic to your site.
I'm hanging in there, however, to hopefully be rid of freakbay completely! That is my goal. I love your intuitive site and ease of use. Editing listings is a breeze comparatively, which I love. It was time consuming to "revise" listings through freakbay and quite cumbersome. One of the many differences I appreciate at Bonanzle. As far as sharing our Bonanzle IDs, unfortunately tPF has a strict rule about not promoting our eBay IDs, nor our new Bonanzle IDs/booths. I wish it was different, but it isn't. Obviously, we have the option of PM'ing one another to find out what our IDs are, but as far as posting them, it's against tPF's rules. A lot of us here at tPF are trying to promote your site as much as possible. Hopefully our little community is making an impact for you (and for us, as well). In the meantime, keep up the excellent work and personalized service. Something freakbay CANNOT or will not offer. Thanks! |

Under General discussion at Bonanzle, a wonderful tPFer has started a TPF thread. Perhaps we can exchange info there and promote one anothers booths.

I think it is so wonderful that both of the head guys at Bonanzle have posted their support for us on this forum! Could you imagine a fleaby executive taking the time to do that? Not in a million years... We wish you guys the best of luck in making Bonanzle a success, and please let us know if/how we can help spread the word. I visited the discussion board yesterday, and there are a few threads about things sellers can do to spread the word. Lots of good ideas! I think if we can each turn a few people onto the site, it will grow exponentially. Fingers crossed:)
And P.S. onecreativegirl- congrats on your sale
