I signed up and imported my listings from eBay. My 'booth' looks great, it seems like a nice place, but the sales will tell!....

Does Bonanzle do any newspaper advertising or can it be discovered only through a search engine?
Bonanzle is apparently a "free listing" site. As much as we sellers like low cost listings, it doesn't provide such a site with much capital to purchase advertisements. Newspaper advertising is costly. Paid placement in search engines costs money. So, ebay, with their higher listing fees, can also out-advertise any competitors. As much as we gripe about ebay policies, you have to admit that they have promoted themselves into a household name.

Just as eBay purchased Paypal when they got big enough, I would expect their next target will be Craig's List or other competitors that nip into their market. If they don't hold their monopoly with satisfied sellers, then they will hold it with competitive buy-outs.

I, too am looking for another site. eBay has just gone bonkers with all their rules and new fees. My own personal favorite is .35cent listing fees and then almost 10% fVf.....because.......so many of their sellers said that was what they wanted! Huh?

I have looked at other sites, but the bags I see on those sites are either fakes or they are so cheap, they don't begin to cover my purchase price.

They do already own a portion of Craigslist. I have never had any luck selling with CL

I just signed up for Bonanzle too, and I'm going to list a bunch of stuff and see what happens. It looks like a great site with owners who are genuinely nice people, and have a sense of humor too! Maybe all of us should do a little shopping on Bonanzle once we sign up, just to encourage all the users to keep at it.

Another thing I'm going to do is send an e-mail to basically everyone I know telling them to check it out. We need help spread the word and create a grassroots uprising against fleabay, and then maybe Bonanzle's fees will stay reasonable. I'd rather it happen that way than for Bonanzle to spend all their money advertising and sending people stupid glossy brochures in the mail like fleabay does. We all have to participate for it to work out!

That's the whole point, silly!:) You need your first Bonanzle sale! Ok, am going to stop talking about this so neither of us get in trouble:)

Everybody else, go buy something on Bonanzle, from anyone, doesn't matter if it's a tPF member!

I've even posted on MySpace as a bulletin about moving to Bonanzle. Had a few e-mails from friends about it, already!

Yay!

I want to import my listings from *bay but I have a few questions (hope these haven't been answered as I read most of this thread yesterday). If your listings are on both sites, how does it work if someone bids and/or buys your item on bonanzle? (I hope you do not think there are "stupid" questions, LOL.) Does the listing immediately end on *bay without a buyer or does it look like it was won on both sites? Is there any way that two people can win at once? I am really confused, and I guess I could email bonanzle about this. I do wish they had a better description on their site about how this works when importing from another site (is it just copied and not removed from *bay?). Thanks!

It's nice for your feedback, it shows how much and what your feedback is from Ebay too!
