I'm toying with the idea of selling a couple of bags. Never done it before (online or elsewhere) and I'm a little apprehensive. I've heard some stories about sellers losing out on eBay and such. I'm not looking to make a killing, just to regain some of my expenditures to maybe fund some future bags. For you experienced sellers out there, what venue would you recommend I use? I know there's eBay, Craigslist, and one called Bonanza? ( never seen it). Also, any good selling tips you want to share (item descriptions, asking prices, etc)? Thank you so much!!

I use eBay. I actually just sold my old chocolate Carly on there a couple of weeks ago and got a decent amount on her, seeing as she was fraying. I'm selling a pair of shoes on there right now.

I look around for similar listings and start low to generate interest. I set a buy it now up, since those are free to list, with the price I would like to get. Hey, maybe someone really wants what I've got and doesn't want to wait. I usually put my listings in all caps and up for five days. I use variations in the title, like, for example, I listed my Carly with the title including both "MEDIUM" and "MED", as well as "SIG" and "SIGNATURE". Keywords are the way you reel people in.

Good luck!

Fees are much more affordable on Bonanza.

Be realistic with your asking prices.

Describe perfectly and post lots and lots of pics.

I intend to try Bonanza, but have been doing ebay a while. definitely take good pictures from all angles and inside, including the creed patch, and a thorough but easy to read description as well as details of condition. And research completed listings for realistic past sale prices. Read some important stickys in the ebay forum-- in TPF also. You'll get more interest in your auction if your title and photos are good.

Also don't forget if you have any bags to sell that are considered vintage (20 years or older) then Etsy is also a good place to list. Fees are low (40 cents per item for a 4 month listing) and you get 4 pictures for free and their cut is much lower than the bay.

I use Bonanza. You can mark something OBO if you are willing to entertain offers a d are a little unsure of your asking price. Just be prepared to get ridiculous offers LOL! Anyway, I like Bonanza because it seems like there are fewer crazies there plus the fees are VERY low.

I sell on eBay and am trying Bonanza right now. I always put the name, color, material and the style number in my title. But, I only use buy it now with immediate payment, because of buyers not paying. I don't want that hassle and I get paid immediately. Since you are a new seller, you probably won't have the buy it now option at first, but keep that in mind for later.

Lot's of good pics is a must and a good description. I figure if you take the time to make a good clean listing and a good description, then you probably take better care of your bags. i hate one picture and one sentence listings. Lazy's

This is AWESOME information, Everyone!!!! From some of the comments, Bonanza is looking a little less intimidating to me than eBay. I'll have to do some comparison shopping Thank you so much!!! Now, to decide which ones to part with... :(

That's one of the hardest parts, good luck with your decision.
