Default And yet another question...

Okay everyone, as you may remember, I was selling a bag, and the buyer bought the item on BIN, and right before I was going to ship it I noticed that there was a flaw in the bag, and so I emailed her telling her, and told her I'd refund her or partially refund her if she still wanted the bag.

So anyway, I still have not heard from her, and I'm really getting nervous. I realize that she may be away for the weekend, so I haven't been that concerned yet, but I will be concerned if I don't hear from her by tomorrow or Tuesday. I really don't want her to think she's been scammed, and I'd like to either issue her refund or get her bag to her as soon as possible...so here's my question...I know you can request the buyer/seller's info...should I do this and call her? I think that's a little weird...and I'm really nervous to do it, but I think if I don't here from her by Tuesday, I should try another means of contacting her. I've already messaged her on *bay and through her home email.

So what do you think? Any suggestions on what I should do if I don't hear from her by the middle of the week? I'm sure she'll be expecting her bag...

If you don't hear from her by Monday evening maybe you could give her a call. The only reason I'd say not to is so that you have a "record" of your agreement if you have something in an email she's agreed to and not just verbal.

I had to do this recently as I bought a $200+ item and received in it's place an item that was about 1/5 it's value. I immediately looked up her info and called her. She didn't answer so I left a couple of messages in addition to sending a message through eBay ( I had to call several times). I was preparing to file a claim when she finally decided to email me. Long story, but there are times when it's okay. Just follow up with an email if you do decide to phone her and reiterate everything in the email that you talked about by phone.

Good Luck

^^^Thank you, I'll definitely do that. If I do contact her, I'll email her and ask her if she is sure before I send the refund/ship the bag.

Thanks for the advice!

I would definitely wait until at least this evening though. If she was out of town all weekend and didn't have access to email, so might feel kind of bombarded if you call her sooner.

Good luck!

I just called a buyer and it was very pleasant. She had emailed me a few times asking if her paypal went through. I emailed her back and did not get a response all weekend so I called her this afternoon and I asked her if she was having trouble with the paypal because I had not received payment. She is new to eBay, and I was right.. she was having trouble with her paypal. I gave her the paypal phone number and she called them. She just called me back to tell me the payment should have gone through. I am happy I called. It was kinda weird but it's worth it.

That's good to know. I'm really nervous about calling her. She's also new to *bay and paypal, actually I think she registered to buy the bag, so I'm thinking she'll wonder how I got her phone number...lol. And after I call her and make her think I'm a stocker...I have to tell her I screwed up...SCARY! LOL! Thanks for your response, I hope everything goes as well for me as it did you.

***UPDATE***I finally called the seller and she was so amazingly sweet. She said she doesn't check her email very often, and she actually didn't want any kind of refund. She said the bag was fine as is. She was surprised I thought it was a big deal. So I told her I would refund her shipping and overnight it to her. So problem resolved! I'm so glad it is!
